Grant awards are intended to support organisations providing specialist equipment or care provision for people with special educational needs who are under the age of 19.

The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust

The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust was founded in 1993 with the specific aim of encouraging and enabling people with disabilities to participate in leisure activities. Voluntary and community organisations based in the United Kingdom may apply for a grant. There is no match funding requirement. The Trust will only fund an organisation once during any twelve month period.

GLL Sports Foundation - supported athletes must live or be educated (school, college, university) within a Local Authority / Public Sector partnership where GLL or partners manage sport and leisure venues be affiliated to a club that has a training base at a GLL or partner managed sport and leisure venue or use a GLL stand-alone centre/Better Gym as your strength and conditioning venue.

HDH Wills 1965 Charitable Trust

The HDH Wills 1965 Charitable Trust awards grants from two separate funds: the General Fund and the Martin Wills Fund. The General Fund is used to make grants for general charitable purposes, while the Martin Wills Fund operates on a seven year funding priority cycle. In the current seven year cycle the Fund’s priority is wildlife conservation.

Jonathan Ruffer Curatorial Grants Art Fund

The Jonathan Ruffer Curatorial Grants Art Fund scheme is open to curators who work across the full range of fine and applied art collections in museums and galleries that hold at least provisional accreditation and are open to the public. In addition, in recognition of the need for new skills, knowledge and research to benefit museum collections for the future, these grants are also available to researchers, art historians and academics from other relevant and related disciplines, retired curators, and other museum professionals who plan to work within and alongside museums to improve the use and understanding of their fine and applied art collections.

Mrs Maud Van Norden’s Charitable Foundation

The Mrs Maud van Norden's Charitable Foundation supports registered charities undertaking charitable activities. Previous grants have been for between £1,500 and £4,500.

The Reach Fund

Access – The Foundation for Social Investment, which is administered by Social Investment Business (SIB) aims to help more charities and social enterprises secure the investment they need to grow by providing £4 million of grants through the Reach Fund until 2018. The Reach Fund represents a different approach to grant funding that is designed, ultimately, to increase opportunities for investment. The Fund's mechanism may feel unfamiliar and even uncomfortable to agencies used to applying directly to grant providers, but may be worth considering if you want to ensure your organisation is 'investment ready'.  

The Sodexo Foundation Stop Hunger Campaign

Sodexo is a French food services and facilities management company that is one of the world's largest multinational corporations. Sodexo offerings range from self-service food services that include staff restaurants, catering, executive dining, vending, and meal delivery, to integrated facilities management services. The Sodexo Foundation is the registered charity behind the Stop Hunger campaign in the UK. The charity supports projects that: Tackle hunger and malnutrition; Promote healthy lifestyles; and Develop life skills such as cooking.

South West Foundation

South West Foundation is re-opening its Small Grant Programme on November 1st 2016. The Small Grant Programme is funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and provides grants up to £1,000. The focus is small charitable Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations with an annual income of less than £25,000. The main focus of the fund is on rural areas, market towns and small seaside towns but we do look to fund groups that are underrepresented in our

current grant programmes in other areas.

The Stock Exchange

The Stock Exchange Veterans began life as a football team in 1958. Although the only qualification for selection was to enjoy football, many talented players with a wide variety of honours have starred for the Veterans over the years, leading to the Veterans becoming a fundraising charitable trust (no. 211359) with the following aims: “To assist, in every manner possible, persons in distress, by making grants, either directly or through other institutions”.

Vandervell Foundation

The Vandervell Foundation makes grants for general charitable purposes and, although its Trustees will consider all applications, the Foundation has a distinct preference for the following type of projects: Education; The performing arts; Social welfare; and Medical care and research. The Foundation also make a small number of awards towards environmental causes and very, very occasionally will award a grant to an individual.

Young people leaving Care

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation has established a new budget of around £2 million a year for at least 5 years to support young people leaving care so that they may sustain healthy relationships and receive more consistent and high quality support from the state. There is no minimum or maximum level of grant and no specified length of time for funding. Applications are accepted from not-for-profit organisations carrying out charitable work to support young care leavers.

The aim of the Grants for the Arts Libraries Fund is to inspire innovative partnerships between local authority public libraries and arts organisations, and encourage library users and those living locally to take part in artistic and cultural activities. Applications can be for between £1,000 and £100,000 and may cover activities lasting up to three years. Applications should support arts activities, i.e. time-limited arts projects with their own artistic aims and outcomes. This includes a wide range of arts activities that support, enhance and enrich public libraries’ core work, and develop libraries’ role as a cultural provider in their communities. Activity must be additional to public libraries’ core work. Work that a library service receives funding through the local authority to deliver can't be grant funded through the scheme. The programme can include funding activities involving any of the art forms that come under the Arts Council’s remit.

Micro-grants are available for special facilities and equipment. The Trust’s total annual charitable expenditure is normally between £20,000 and £40,000.  

Grants can be used to help with costs related to:

Summer schools; Specialist equipment; IT equipment; Toys; Books; Course fees; and Holidays and trips.

Applicants must complete an application form, which should be requested directly from the Trust. Previous applicants may re-apply, however any previous funding received from the Bodenham Trust in the past

Martin Wills Fund. The General Fund is used to make grants for general charitable purposes, while the Martin Wills Fund operates on a seven year funding priority cycle.

In the current seven year cycle the Fund’s priority is wildlife conservation. Grant awards are normally one-off and mainly made in the UK, although occasionally grants are provided for overseas projects.

Grants can be awarded for revenue, capital or project costs. Awards from the General Fund can be for up to £5,000 but are more typically between £100 and £1,000. Awards from the Martin Wills Fund are usually between £2,000 and £25,000.

The Mayor of Bath's Relief Fund was set up many years ago to help the citizens of Bath. The Charity provides support to Bath residents who are in need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities. Grants of up to £850 are given dependant on the individual case.  This fund is the last resort for most who have already exhausted all other channels such as Social Security, Social Services and other local charities.
