Christ the Servant Lutheran Church Putting Jesus’ Way of Life into Practice by... Encountering God, Loving One Another, & Reaching the World. The Holy Trinity Sunday June 7, 2020 Though the word trinity is not found in the scriptures, today’s reading includes the apostolic greeting that begins the liturgy: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. In the gospel Jesus sends his disciples forth to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. More than a doctrine, the Trinity expresses the heart of our faith: we have experienced the God of creation made known in Jesus Christ and with us always through the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity in word and sacrament, as we profess the creed, and as we are sent into the world to bear witness to our faith. READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 13: 5-13 Paul closes a challenging letter to the Corinthians with an appeal to Christian fellowship grounded in the triune harmony of Christ’s grace, God’s love, and the Spirit’s partnership.

The Holy Trinity SundayJune 7, 2020

Though the word trinity is not found in the scriptures, today’s reading includes the apostolic greeting that begins the liturgy: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 13: 5-13Paul closes a challenging letter to the Corinthians with an appeal to Christian fellowship grounded in the triune harmony of Christ’s grace, God’s love, and the Spirit’s partnership. GOSPEL: MATTHEW 28:16-20After his resurrection, Jesus summons his remaining disciples and commissions them to baptize and teach all nations in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. MESSAGE: Pastor Chris Steubing

Join us for a Journey toward Possibilities – Risk-Taking Mission & ServiceWe hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy…we will get through this together!! There are many ways that we, as a church community, support both local and international mission efforts. While we have not been able to participate in person at our church building, we want to let you know the ways in which you can still help. We have gathered a few of the organizations we support at CSLC and to which you could donate, if you so desire.

Echo Prayer AppWe want to make sure everyone is supported, connected, and engaged in our mission even during a pandemic. The way we’re doing that is by establishing extended family household size groups called missional communities. This is your extended family within the larger spiritual family of Christ the Servant. If you haven’t already, you should be hearing from your missional community leaders about ways to give and receive support, stay connected with one another, and find a way to serve together. We’re also experimenting with a prayer app to help keep us connected spiritually as a congregation and to follow the biblical urging for us to pray without ceasing. The app is called ECHO and you can find our prayer network under the name “Christ the Servant Prayer Network.”

Red Cross Blood Drive

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church partners with American Red Crossto host community blood drive

Christ the Servant Lutheran Church will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 3676 Centerville Road, Vadnais Heights, MN 55127.

For more information or to make an appointment to donate, sign up online at redcrossblood.org with sponsor code “Christ the Servant”.

Christ the Servant is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations. This blood drive is our way of giving our community an opportunity to help save lives.”

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life.”

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
