The Academic legitimation of Ancient Metrology Paper 7 DK 31/01/2020 The Stonehenge to Avebury Geodetic Relationship (91520 imperial feet 52 x 1760) This relationship was discovered by John Michell as 17.28 miles but 17.333r miles is used here. The Eclipse line is on the right. The 91520 feet line finishes in Thom’s 3,4,5 triangle that his Avebury arcs were surveyed and laid out against. This triangle is the frontispiece to Thom’s first book ‘Megalithic Sites in Britain’ Oxford Press 1967. Daylight has been left between the two lines so the extreme accuracy can be appreciated. The intention of the designers is very clear as Michell pointed out. The earth circumference indicated by 17.333r miles is 1/1440 of the Earth Circumference. 1440 x 17.333r = 24960 Imperial miles and a scale of measure can be obtained against the Eclipse line. Michell’s calculation was 1440 x 17.28 = 24883.20 miles an astonishing discovery that has been submerged by the sheer complexity and volume of his other work. The Eclipse Line has produced a constant fixed line that can be used to show just what the diameter of the Avebury monument represents. Two fixed points on a scale are enough to work out the intended length and here 24883.20 and 24960 are pointing quite obviously to 25000 miles. The scale of measure used by the designers is set out by the Lesser Cursus being 1320 imperial feet. It is a key and can plainly be seen to be so when the Sacred Complex at Stonehenge is viewed from above. 25000 miles is 132000000 imperial feet and this is 1000000 lengths of the Stonehenge Lesser Cursus.

The Stonehenge to Avebury Geodetic Relationship (91520 imperial feet 52 x 1760)

This relationship was discovered by John Michell as 17.28 miles but 17.333r miles is used here.

1000000 is one million lengths and this is the system suggested by Professor Thom as base 10.

The Indus Valley foot ,as identified by Berriman in his book Historical Metrology publisher Dent 1953, is 1.1 imperial feet being 13.2 imperial inches.

The circumference of the Aubrey Circle as identified by Thom is his first book is 897.60 imperial feet on page 47. This is 330 of Thom’s megalithic yards and more significantly 132 of Thom’s megalithic rods.

132 at the Aubrey circle

132 at the Lesser Cursus

7 x 132 at the Greater Cursus

69.333r x 1320 between the Aubrey Circle and Avebury

1320 is 10 x 11 x 12 and the metrology resolves to something in simple whole numbers, exactly as Thom suggested.

So what length in miles gives the 25000 miles symbolic Earth circumference

25000/1440 = 17.36111r imperial miles being 91666.666r imperial feet leading to the quite stunning realisation that 17.36111r miles represents 1.736111r an Egyptian cubit in feet and the Avebury diameter becomes a sliding scale for the computation of Egyptian cubit lengths.

Applying this to Michell’s length of 17.28 miles gives a cubit length of 1.728 feet being 20.736 inches exactly as Michell suggested.

The 17.333r mile cubit is simplt 1.7333r feet 20.8 inches or 4 x 5.2 inches.

The Aubrey circle diameter in imperial feet is 897.60 x 100 = 89760 feet and this is 17 miles exactly producing a cubit of 20.4 inches.

The Geodetic Line from Stonehenge to Avebury can be established as an ancient ley line following Watkins criteria as follows:

It starts in the centre of the Aubrey circle.

It passes through the Greater Cursus on a back bearing if 176 degrees cutting the monument into a 3 by 4 length of 7 units in total each unit being 1320 imperial feet.

It passes through Casterley Camp entrance as does the Eclipse line (6th site on the Eclipse line).

It passes directly through the Alton Barnes White Horse suggesting a Neolithic beginning to the placement of this outstanding landscape feature, and that probably the white horse was regarded as a sacred animal.

It passes through the entrance to the West Kennet Long Barrow and the Eclipse line also passes through this monument.

There is a crop mark circle just before Avebury and both lines pass through this.

The Geodetic Line finishes inside Thom’s 3,4,5 triangle and the Eclipse Line passes through it.

Seven aspects to this alignment without fully researching the Alton Priors and Alton Barnes complex that has many features suggestive of the Megalithic including the proximity of the white horse.

The Geodetic Line Stonehenge to Avebury

The line commences within the Thom 3,4,5 triangle within the Avebury Perimeter. The left hand line.

It passes through a cropmarked circle very clearly visible on this Google Earth image.

Both lines can be clearly seen passing through the West Kennet Long Barrow

Then through the Alton Barnes White Horse ( enlarged image loses the eclipse line)

Bothe lines pass through Casterley Camp ( A Megalithic Enclosure?)

Finally both lines pass though the Greater Cursus before the Geodetic Line finishes at Stonehenge and the Eclipse line passes on to Old Sarum six miles away.
