LAS ESTACIONES - Seasons
START WORKING ON YOUR WEATHER JOURNAL:
Create a journal section in your notebook and copy “Mi calendario” page 10 times. (Do not print, have kids write and draw)
Journal is due in class – the first day we come back in the classroom.
Handwriting engages the brain areas of thinking, language and memory and require fine motor skills. Asking your child to keep it clean and in orderly manner will help him/her create spatial neuronal connections.
OPTIONAL GAME:
PLAY with the notecards that will, can be done for the days of the week, the months of the year.
Start with “Days of the week” notecards, put them facedown.  Ask your child to stand near the notecards and listen for the day of the week.  You can say a day of the week and the student hurries to flip over the cards to find the correct day.  When he/she find the correct day he/she must run up to a “board” (previously assigned place) to stick it on.  The goal is to correctly stick the notecard on the right order. (The idea is to have the kids moving, so find a “board” as far as possible. LOL
MORE THAN ONE PLAYER: This game could be done with more than one player. Each player need their own set of cards/days. The player that finishes faster and in the right order wins.
Also: Have the kids write down the days on their cards, that way they get more writing practice.
