1.4.3 Shop Drawings:1.4.3.1 Dimensioned plans indicating layout of toilet compartments.1.4.3.2 Dimensioned elevations indicating heights of doors, pilasters, separation

partitions, and other components; indicate locations and sizes of openings in compartment separation partitions for toilet and bath accessories to be installed in partitions; indicate floor and ceiling clearances.

1.4.3.3 Details indicating anchoring components (bolt layouts) and methods for project conditions; indicate components required for installation, but not supplied by toilet compartment manufacturer.

1.4.4 Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, one complete set of color selection guides representing manufacturer's full range of available colors, textures and patterns.

1.4.5 Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm), representing actual product, color, texture and pattern.

1.4.6 LEED Green Building Rating System: Submit manufacturer's documentation of recycled content, in accordance with LEED credit calculations.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1 Manufacturers Qualifications: Minimum 5 year experience manufacturing similar products.

1.5.2 Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 year experience installing similar products.

1.5.3 Products and installation shall comply with:1.5.3.1 American Disability Association Standards.1.5.3.2 ANSI A117.1.1.5.3.3 International Code Council - Fire Rating.1.5.3.4 Uniform Federal Accessibilities Standards.

1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

1.6.1 Convene minimum of two weeks prior to starting work of this section.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.7.1 Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards.

1.7.2 Store products indoors in manufacturer's original containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer. Protect from damage.

1.7.3 Lay cartons flat, with adequate support to ensure flatness and to prevent damage to pre-finished surfaces.

1.7.4 Do not store where ambient temperature exceeds 120 degrees F (49 degrees C).

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.8.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.8.2 Do not deliver materials or begin installation until building is enclosed, with complete protection from outside weather, and building temperature maintained at a minimum of 60 degrees F (15.6 degrees C).

1.9 SEQUENCING

1.9.1 Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to maintain construction schedule.

1.10 WARRANTY

1.10.1 Manufacturers Standard Warranty For Powder Coated Steel Material: When properly maintained, a one-year warranty against all defects in workmanship and construction under normal wear and use of this product.

1.10.2 Manufacturers Standard Warranty For Stainless Steel Material: When properly maintained, a ten-year warranty against all defects in workmanship and construction under normal wear and use of this product.

1.10.3 Manufacturers Standard Warranty For Solid Plastic HDPE Material: When properly

2.3.4.6 Pilaster tops are securely braced together with a continuous anti-grip headrail of extruded aluminum alloy, polished and clear anodized.

2.3.5 Material and Finish:2.3.5.1 Doors, Panels and Pilasters shall be constructed of solid phenolic core,

comprised of decorative surface papers superimposed over a varying number of melamine-impregnated kraft paper sheets to achieve the desired thickness of each component. Sheets are fused together under high temperature and pressure to form a single solid sheet. Decorative surface papers are applied and bonded to meet and exceed NEMA standards.

2.4.6 Hardware and Fittings:2.4.6.1 Hinges for Non-ADA Doors: Doors shall be fabricated with an integral hinge

system consisting of a pilaster machined to accept a door and hinge mechanism with no exposed metal parts. Integral hinges consist of a two piece cammed nylon pin at bottom of door and one 4 inches (102 mm) nylon pin at the top of door. Nylon pins are secured in place with stainless steel pins. Hinges are designed for easy adjustment in the field to either a fully closed or partially opened position.

2.4.6.2 Hinges for ADA Doors: 8 inches (203 mm) high wrap around type made from extruded aluminum w/ clear anodized finish. Hinges are designed for easy adjustment in the field to either a fully closed or partially opened position.

2.4.6.3 Door Hardware: Strike/keeper shall be a heavy duty 6 inches (152 mm) high clear anodized aluminum extrusion with sound dampening rubber inserts. ADA compliant slide latch shall be clear anodized aluminum with a black anodized sliding insert. Slide latch shall be equipped with angle bar for emergency access. Each door shall be supplied with one chrome plated Zamac coat hook with bumper. Each handicap door shall be supplied with one chrome plated Zamac pull handle.

2.4.6.4 All hardware is to be ADA compliant.

2.5 PLASTIC LAMINATE TOILET COMPARTMENT AND SCREENS

2.5.1 Type H/B: Headrail braced plastic laminate toilet compartments.

2.5.2 Type C/H: Ceiling hung braced plastic laminate toilet compartments.

decorative plastic laminate. Edge surfaces shall be applied prior to the overlapping face surfaces to seal edge and prevent laminate from being pried

2.5.5.2 Panels are 7/8 inch (22 mm) thick with all external edges and faces covered with decorative plastic laminate. Edge surfaces shall be applied prior to the overlapping face surfaces to seal edge and prevent laminate from being pried loose.

2.5.5.3 Pilasters (Type H/B - Headrail Braced) are 1-1/4 inches (32 mm) thick with external edges and faces covered with decorative plastic laminate. Two 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) diameter X 6 inches (152 mm) long cadmium plated studs anchor pilaster to structural steel support*. Locking nuts, washers and leveling nuts allow for field adjustment. A polished 3 inches (76 mm) high stainless steel shoe of one-piece construction, matching pilaster profile, shall be supplied to conceal ceiling anchoring. Tamper proof shoe assembly held in place by concealed anchor clips - exposed screws are not acceptable. *Structural steel supports shall be supplied, drilled and tapped by others in accordance with drilling template provided by AAMCO.

2.5.5.5 Pilasters (Type F/S - Floor Supported) are 1-1/4 inches (32 mm) thick with external edges and faces covered with decorative plastic laminate. Edge surfaces shall be applied prior to the overlapping face surfaces to seal edge and prevent laminate from being pried loose. Pilasters shall have an attached carrying member made up of a 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) X 1 inch (25 mm) solid steel bar. density, resin-impregnated particle board having flat, smooth surface characteristics. A decorative plastic laminate is then bonded under pressure to core material with a non-toxic, water resistant adhesive. No splices or joints in facing or core are acceptable.

2.5.6.2 Components shall have edge and face surfaces covered with high pressure, .048 thick (general purpose grade) decorative plastic laminate that meets or exceeds NEMA standards for resistance to wear, burns and moisture.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.2 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

3.2.2 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.3.3.1.1 Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer's approved shop drawing

and installation instructions with partitions being rigid plumb, straight and level. Unless stated otherwise doors and panels shall be 58 inches (1473 mm) high and mounted 12 inches (305 mm) above finished floor.

3.3.1.2 Solid plastic doors and panels shall be 55 inches (1397mm) high and mounted 14 inches (356mm) above finished floor
