SPAG: Expanded noun phrases.A noun is a word which identifies a thing or place. What nouns can you think of – look around the room to help you.

PSHE – Dealing with losing.It is great when we win. How do you feel when you win a race or a game?We can’t always win. Sometimes we lose too. It is okay not to win. How do you feel when you lose? You might feel sad, angry or disappointed. This is normal. What is a good way of dealing with losing? What can you say?

Extra practical ideas: Water play – the warmer weather is a great opportunity to let your child explore filling and emptying different sized and shaped containers

and talking about measuring liquids. Outdoor letter formation – use chalks to write words and letters and your child can trace over them using water and a paintbrush. You can

jazz this up even further by adding glitter to the water! Develop fine motor skills by getting children to thread cheerio’s onto spaghetti or pasta onto string. Use old spray bottle to get children to spray the plants to develop hand strength.

Include your child in chores such as hanging out the wishing – using pegs is great for fine motor development and hand strength.
