Curriculum Fortnightly Plan: EYFS Home Learning We hope you are all keeping safe and well. For Reception home learning we would like to you to continue to pick and choose activities from the Term 5 Home Learning Pack, from the various areas of learning, and any of the other resource links we have put into the book bag for you. Most importantly, if you are not in school, continue to enjoy the warm and sunny weather when it is with us. We will be getting outside to do the same as much as possible in school, so use this document as another resource/guide to dip into. Remember you can always upload what you’ve been up to onto our Class padlets. Mrs Kaur will also be setting a weekly challenge on each padlet so have a look out for those. Here are the links and passwords again for you to do this: Class 1 https://padlet.com/cprice69/c3jnk0tvr87lnyov Password: StjClass1 Class 2 https://padlet.com/sdagnall/uio6dh0gcj9bzaav Password: stjamesclass2enjoy! Our theme for the first part of the term is Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be including some theme based activities on our fortnightly plan which link to a variety of areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage, but again please remember, these activities are there for you to engage in as works for you as a family trying to juggle everything else at home. Your child’s self-initiated play at home will create rich learning opportunities and experiences, so if they are playing with dinosaurs instead of wanting to do one of our suggested activities let them lead the way, and what would make it an even richer learning experience is if you join in their play too. The Department for Education’s Hungry Little Minds campaign features tips and practical activities that parents can do at home with children to support their early learning. There are many simple ways to help children learn and it does not have to feel like ‘learning’. Having everyday conversations, make-believe play and reading together all make a big difference to children’s development. Another site to look at for support is the BBC’s Tiny Happy People .

Below is a plan of some of the activities we are doing in school over the next fortnight. Due to the resources that we have in school and that you are likely to have at home, some of the activities (especially maths) will differ slightly, although they will still be covering the same learning intentions over the term. For our Reception children staying at home and critical worker children, if your child is not in on a particular day, please feel free to have a go at the activities below for that day. There is no need to complete these activities if you have chosen to do something else, and there is no requirement to complete the work in preparation for the next day they are in.

You will want to rephrase some of the questions to make them a little more Reception friendly! Please don’t do them all in one reading session. Pick one and give it a go.
