INNOVATIVE DESIGNER – SHANGHAI, CHINA

Are you a passionate designer, who can you think ‘out of the box’? Can you create unique designs, visualize at professional level, and mature designs technically for mass production? Do you want to design ‘Custom-made Visual Merchandising Display’, and work with some of the most successful brands within the fashion and jewellery industry, as well as create product designs within the ‘Home & Living’ segment for our newly established brand, NAV Scandinavia? You will be involved in a variety of design projects, have the opportunity to utilise your creativity, manage a large number of design projects including staff management, and thereby gain valuable professional and personal experience within one of the fastest growing production markets in the world.

As Designer, you will be working in our office in Shanghai, where we provide solutions and products within ‘Custom-made Visual Merchandise Display’ for international medium to high-end retail brands. Furthermore, we create Scandinavian ‘Home & Living’ designs for our newly established brand, NAV Scandinavia.

Job description

‘Custom-made Visual Merchandising Display’ / ‘Home & Lifestyle’ products. Responsible for creating designs for- and visualisations of concept and product solutions. Technical maturing of products including prototypes for mass production. Manage projects, including staff management of Chinese project managers in regards to

the development of products. Communication with international customers and Chinese suppliers. Arranging and optimisation of production procedures, incl. specification of quality control

guidelines. Calculation of cost prices. Development and implementation of working procedures and methods.

Required qualifications A degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture Design or similar. Minimum 3 years of work experience. User at professional level of 2 + 3D drawing/visualisation software, and proficient user of

Microsoft Office package. English at business level in both speaking and writing. Experience with production of related products. Experience with graphic design and offset printing also has relevance. Ability to continuously improve and optimise working processes and methods. A good financial understanding.
