The celebration won’t be quite as planned but virtual drinkies and online quiz with the family, plus a sufficient quantity of alcohol will do the trick. I have just had 12 bottles of Captain Bob delivered from Maldon’s Mighty Oak brewery – well you’ve got to support the local community. Joan D posted 10/4/20 Hi Len - I’ve been obsessed with painting the rape seed opposite my house - the first is the view from the windows, the second is done in acrylics, then in watercolour. It’s such a vivid yellow!

Len J posted 5/4/20Been active again today exercising and gardening in beautiful weather that got to almost 30C; it’s lovely to feel the warmth of the sun. Getting closer to the plants (and weeds) I noticed my first butterfly of the year - a peacock butterfly but typically, it had flown away by the time I got the camera! A hibiscus has just started to bud too. We have a camelia that hasn’t flowered for a few years that has actually got one flower but it’s hiding it in the middle of the plant. Ironically it is named “days of joy” – you couldn’t make it up could you!

Anyway here are a few pics taken today

Sue S posted 5/4/20It’s very odd isn't it, having lots of time and nowhere to actually go!!!  I cannot get any inspiration to paint at the moment, but I’m going through books at a rate of knots.  Hopefully the weather will improve now so it’s my intention to have an immaculate garden !!!

Have just poured myself a GT to celebrate managing to find flour today!!!

Take care.

Some of you may already have received an email from Jackons about teaching online while self-isolating. So, are you are isolated and searching for artistic inspiration? You might find some below.

Photos taken by me during my exercises. The old and the new, although I much prefer the old! I can guarantee the new one won’t be standing in 700 years.

Linda H’s son asked if he could post this lovely image near Lillooet, Canada. It’s nowhere near Maldon but it works for me

Ruth O’n posted 28/3/20

Ruth has been very busy lately with 5 paintings!

No, the bunny isn’t my work – I’m not that good! My 5 year old grandson thought he should cheer me up and he asked his mum if he could draw a picture for me. I have to say it worked wonders!!

When gazing into the garden the lovely viola have been smiling at me and dazzling in the sunlight. Members are free to use the image if they are inspired enough to paint or draw them.
