Task:Your task is to select a season and draw a picture of yourself in that season. Think carefully about what you would wear. Draw the weather that you would see in that

Example:

In summer the sun shines and it is really hot. People wear shorts and t-shirts. They also wear sun hats and sunglasses. The trees are still green and there are lots of beautiful flowers. In summer, people like to go to the beach and swim in the sea.

IntroductionToday we will continue revising. Earlier this year when learning about division, we understood that this means we need to share things into equal groups.

Remember – It is really important that groups have equal amounts.

Key Questions- How can you describe division?- How can we share fairly?

Task:In your distance learning book, draw the groups and share the cupcakes and sweets equally amongst them. Record your answer.

Last week we read the story ‘Grandad’s Secret Giant ‘and we found out that the Giant was really helpful.

Key Questions:- What does helpful mean?- When have you been helpful?- How was the Giant helpful in the story?

Task:Today’s task is to think of another helpful thing that the Giant and Billy could do together. Draw a picture of it and write a caption underneath.

Example:

The ginger cat is stuck in the huge tree. The Giant and Billy help the cat to get down.

Earlier this year we learned about fractions. A fraction is a part of a shape or object that makes up a whole. In Year 1 – we learned about halves and quarters (fourths)/ Halving something requires two equal parts, whilst quartering something requires four equal parts.

Key Questions- How many parts or groups would halving something need?- How many parts or groups would quartering something need?- What does the word fraction mean? (equal parts to make a

whole)

Task:In your Distance Learning, look at the pictures and record your answers. Draw the information if it helps and send to your teacher.

Example:

One sunny morning Billy heard a ginger cat crying. The poor cat was stuck on a branch of a huge tree and couldn’t get down. The cat was scared. Billy told the Giant all about the cat. The Giant reached up to top of the tree and carefully picked up the cat and put him on the ground. Billy fed the cat because he was so hungry. The cat was so happy to be saved.
