THE ROBERTSON REPORT

FIRST NINE WEEKS ALMOST OVER

This first nine weeks has been packed full of all sorts of learning! In Math

we've been studying whole numbers and decimals. In the coming weeks,

we'll be learning more about how to compare, order, add, subtract, multiply,

and divide decimals. Encourage your child to continue to practice their

basic math facts. We have finished our Social Studies unit on the Civil War

and have now begun our Science unit on Plant and Animal Classification,

Cells, and Heredity. In the next few weeks, we'll be finishing our mentor

text in Literacy (Steal Away Home by Lois Ruby) and writing several types

of writing including an opinion piece on the importance of reading.

Needless to say, we're keeping ourselves busy.

Please pay attention to the important dates listed on this newsletter, and

know that I'm looking forward to meeting with you during Parent/Teacher

Conferences the week of September 23rd! If you’re interested in monitoring

your child’s progress online

https://go2.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/parent/wps/portal , please sign up in our

school’s Parent Center.

We are partnering with Pizza Hut this year to help motivate your child to want to read more at home. Pizza Hut’s “Book It!” program would like to give your child a reading award certificate at the end of each month if they meet their monthly reading goal. I set the goal for your child each month. Redeem the certificate at Pizza Hut for a FREE personal pan pizza!
