PART 1 –RESEARCH 1. Research

Create an information text (300 words approx.) telling important and interesting things about the designer, artist, illustrator, movement or style you have chosen to research. Consider the following:

The connection between the movement or style and what preceded it

Where/how the designer, artist or illustrator fits within a movement or style

The cultural relevance of the movement, style, designer, illustrator or artist’s work

Public reception of movement or style, or of the designer, illustrator or artist’s work

Interesting/important biographical information

Description of materials, processes used

2. Reflection on key works

Select 4 artworks from your chosen designer, illustrator, artist, movement or style.

For each, include the following information (100 words for each approx.):

a. Identification of work: Name of creator, title of work (if there is one), date, location (if relevant), movement or style

b. An explanation of why you like it (be sure to discuss elements and principles of design)

PART 2 – Studio WorkCreate 1-2 artworks in the style of or inspired by your chosen designer, illustrator, artist, movement or style.

Your work may be 2 or 3 dimensional, in any medium.

PART 3 – Reflection1. Write a 300-400 word reflection on your final piece(s):

What, if anything, you are not happy about, f. What you have learned in the process of making your piece(s)g. What, if anything, you would do differently next time.
