After the presentation,.in the center of the table I will write the word “Money” ,asking my students to write everything related to this topic .
Teaching and learning activities
The children will be divided in 5 groups(5 countries). Each of them will receive a map of Europe.Students ,with my help and using the map projected on the whiteboard, will identify and color the following countries:Bulgaria,Poland,Hungary,Sweden and Romania .
We’ll have a discution about the national currency of each one of this countries.
Every team will receive a envelope, inside of which they will find different types of bills and coins ,from the country they represent .
Each member of every team will have the opportunity so name and describe one of the bills or the coins of the country he represents.
I will have the envelope with the official currency of the European Union.
Like the students,I will present different types of coins and bills ,specifyng that this is the national currency for 25 european countries .
Because it’s important for them to know that the value of the things and the money are not the same everywhere,we will play a game called ”My bakery”.
So,for one white bread:
Bulgaria – 1 leva
Romania-2,25 lei
Sweden -20,5 kor
Poland-2,70 zl
Hungary-179 forint
Germany(one of the countries who use euro as a currency )-1,15 euro
Evaluative activities
At the end of the activity, the envelopes will be mixed. So one member of each team has to stick one bill and one coins from the envelope he received on the white boardusing the political map,on the country that uses that currency.
As an individual activity ,they will receive a white sheet, where they have to write things that we can not get with money.
