Evaluation: MFL Logo 1. The MFL department wanted an A3 size logo to identify the department. The audience would be students and parents. They wanted a design using the French, German and European flags. I produced this design by opening an A3 sized page on Photoshop and selecting a bold font. I used the text tool to write ‘MFL’ on the page. I then found an image on Google of all the European flags (http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/e/eu!patc.gif ). I pasted it onto my Photoshop document and then held my cursor in-between the image layer and the text layer, and then pressed ‘alt’ and clicked. This made the image go inside the text. I then copied and pasted the text layer, and moved it slightly to look like a shadow.

Evaluation: MFL Logo

2. My design represents the importance of learning a foreign language. I have included all of the European flags to show all of the different cultures.

3. My final design does fit the brief as I have created an A3 sized logo including the European flags. I used a bold font so that you could see a lot of the image inside the text. I used all of the European flags in my design to fit the brief. The tools that I used were the text tool and putting an image inside text.

I didn’t use any other work as inspiration and I didn’t change my design from my sketch.

This brief was achievable and I was able to stick to it and create a design that the client would be happy with.

4.We communicated with our clients by email and if they wanted, meeting up with them so that we were able to discuss their needs and ideas. We mainly worked independently when creating the designs for the briefs. We managed our time effectively by selecting a group of people to work on each brief, and we made sure that we had enough time to complete them before the deadline. I think that we have improved our teamwork skills by communicating more.
