Do I know you...? calls for entries that explore ideologies and expressions of identity. Our values, interests, passions, memories, cultures, bodies and desires make us individuals and form our identities. We have unique fingerprints that identify us,

and we carry photographic proof. We embrace our bodies and our physical selves, or deny them. We belong to groups that guide us, and oppose those who don’t.

Terms and Conditions- Each exhibitor participating in the 2016 Watt Space Annual Student Art Prize (ASAP)

must pay an exhibition fee of $15 per work that will cover gallery rental and other costs.- Artists must make themselves available for gallery duty during the exhibition. Roster

duty will be divided evenly between all exhibitors. Exhibitors will nominate their roster duty when submitting forms. In the event of the artist not staffing the gallery a fine of $15 per hour will be levied.

- Artists are welcome to submit multiple works but in the interest of equity some works may not be included in the exhibition.

- Students may submit works in series, however please be aware that due to potential space limitations, not all works may be exhibited. Works in series cannot be sold separately, if series is a single entry.

- There is no size or weight restriction however work must be able to be handled by two people.

- Each exhibitor must provide a short artist statement via email by Friday 26th August 2016, for inclusion in the exhibition catalogue and website. Statements should be a maximum of 75 words and relate to the exhibition theme Do I know you…?.

- Catalogue information must be attached to submitted works. Please include artist’s name, title of work, medium, size (cm) and price.

- Exhibitors must be currently enrolled students of the University of Newcastle.- Submitted works must be available for display throughout the duration of the exhibition

until 5pm Sunday 25th September 2016.- Submissions must be original works by the entrant. Submitted work must be completed

in the last 12 months.- The ASAP is a curated exhibition and placement and display of entries within Watt Space

is entirely at the discretion of the curator.- Artworks must be dry and ready for hanging, including hooks, pins etc. supplied and

attached by the artist with clear instructions for preferred hanging e.g. can the work be pinned etc.

- Text, sound and video submissions are welcome, however please be aware that due to potential space and technological limitations, not all works may be exhibited.

- Each artist specifically permits and authorizes Watt Space to reproduce his or her work for publicity purposes, catalogues, or any other publications related to the gallery, during the exhibition and at any time in the future.

- Works shall at all times be at the risk of the entrant and Watt Space and UON, whilst exercising all care, is not responsible for the loss, damage or theft of works whilst in the gallery.

- Works that sell during the course of the exhibition are subject to the gallery’s standard commission of 27.5%, which includes GST if applicable. For works to be deemed as sold a minimum of 10% of the sale price must be paid. No sold work is to be removed from the gallery until the full sale price is paid to the gallery.

- Judges will not have access to the name or gender of entrants throughout the judging process. The judges’ decision is final. No appeal process will be entered into.
