Thought for this week…..by Rev. Michelle MartinI heard a radio interview this week with a young woman who had set out to raise some money for a man living nearby who was in need. She didn’t know this man but had heard about his difficulties in the local news. Despite her own personal difficulties, she made it her aim to try and raise £500. She actually raised over £300,000!!! Since her

initial fundraising, she has now stated helping others and has set up a charitable trust so that this work may continue. This all started with feeling compassion for one person and wanting to help. I found this story so inspiring. It is a simple reminder of what God can do when we are prepared to act out of our compassion for others. God can take and transform even the smallest of actions, if only we would let him. Don’t underestimate the power of a simple smile to someone who can’t find the energy to smile back. Amen
