CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
We are calling for presentations, educational sessions, and panel discussions to be a part of the BC Aboriginal Women in Business Conference. Any person with an expertise in Aboriginal business, or is an Aboriginal women is invited to submit session proposals.

This is an opportunity to share effective business strategies, practices, information, and insights for Aboriginal Women in Business. Please consider contributing a session or being a part of a panel discussion! Entry deadline is October 31 2014
Presentation Submission Information and General Instructions
We are looking for 1 hour presentations and 15 minute panel presenters who cover a variety of business topics, such as:
Planning Management Growth & Development Strategies Innovation Entrepreneurs Leadership Skills Trends Economic Development in Aboriginal
Communities Partnerships
Each presentation must have a focus on Aboriginal women.
Presentation Submission Information and General Instructions
1. Submissions must be relevant to the theme of BC Aboriginal Women in Business. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
2. Submissions must be received no later than October 31st, 2014. 3. Do not submit a paper submission. Only electronic abstracts will be accepted by
email to: [email protected]. Notification of acceptance will be sent out November 14th, 2014 5. Presenters may not use any conference presentation to market products or
services; trade show exhibition space is available for that purpose. 6. The standard audio/visual equipment provided by Maaj Consulting Group Inc. will
include internet connection, an LCD projector, and microphone (more equipment may be available upon request). Phone line and other A/V equipment will NOT be provided. If needed, it will be the responsibility of the presenters to make arrangements and provide payment for such equipment.
If accepted, presenters must register for the conference. As a gesture of our appreciation for all the hard work in preparing your presentation, we will give a 75% discount on registration fees ($96.25 total registration fee owed) for 1 hour or more presentations, or 50% discount for 15 minute panel presentation fees ($192.50 total registration fee owed). All travel expenses are NOT included for reimbursement (i.e. airfare, hotel, taxis, meals, incidentals).

Submission Deadline October 31st, 2014Maaj Consulting Group Inc. invites individuals with an expertise in Aboriginal Women in Business to submit presentation abstracts. BC Aboriginal Women in Business Advisors will consider the submissions for presentation. Presenters will be selected competitively through a blind review process.
Presentation Formats
1 Hour Presentation: Workshops that focus on business issues or topics related to BC Aboriginal Women in Business. Space requirements for workshops should be specified (e.g., lecture hall or break out tables needed).
15 Minute Panel Discussions: Are 1 to 1. 5 hour long sessions with 15 minutes per presenter (e.g., discussions about business topics, career development, and funding opportunities) designed to allow for discussion amongst presenters as well as provide a forum for interaction with session attendees. Panel Discussions are expected to have 3 or more speakers, depending on the structure of the session. We are looking for a panel of youth and elders to be a part of each discussion. Submissions for panel sessions follow the same criteria as the paper abstracts; however, the abstract should include "For Panel Session" after the title.
Research Poster Session: Space will be reserved to display business research results, studies of educational evaluation or best practice topics of interest. Authors will be responsible for mounting and removing posters and are expected to be available to discuss their exhibit posters. Abstracts that are highly rated in the review process, but not accepted for a formal paper presentation will be invited as a poster presentation, and will be responsible for 75% of registration fees ($288.75). Submit abstract and include “For Poster Session” after the title.
Instructions for Authors: All applications must be submitted through the [email protected] email. Submissions must be received by October 31st, 2014, to be considered for the review process. Notification of acceptance for conference presentation will be mailed by November 14th, 2014. Contributed Paper Abstract: Each submission must include the following: an abstract that includes the title, be written in English, is no longer than 500 words, single-spaced (11 to 12 point font) and no longer than one page in length. All abstracts must be in Word docx format. If tables, charts or figures are included, these should be counted within the 500 word limit. Do not include references. Abstracts should not include any identification of the authors. Author identification (name, affiliation, (up to) 200 word biography, and photo) should be provided on a separate page.
Evaluation Criteria: The following criteria are used to evaluate all abstracts: 1) originality of work; 2) relevance or interest to focus audience; 3) timelines; and 4) quality, clarity and completeness of the abstract.
Abstracts will be evaluated on their potential significance to the conference topic, potential contribution to the audience’s knowledge, and innovation and soundness of the approach for Aboriginal women in business. Abstracts covering research on current policy issues will be evaluated according to the soundness of the research method and the potential contribution to policy discussion.
