A Message from our TeachersDear Families,

Thank you for all the warm wishes and valentines! We had fun exploring the theme of Love and Friendship this past month. We learned that being a good friend means developing skills such as cooperation, sharing, giving and accepting compliments and apologies. We hope that we have all learned some new strategies to be a good friend!

We continue our monthly virtual music classes with Ms.Tangle, and library visits with Ms.Rhonda and Ms. Lyndsey.

In addition, we’d like to welcome and introduce our empathy families who will be working with our Pre-K classes for the remainder of the year:

● Claire’s AM class: Baby Leo, parents Bianca Park & Alex Gosseling

● Carmen’s AM class: Baby Zowen, parents Beth and Claude Durupt, siblings Zaden and Zaylia

● Carmen’s PM class: Baby Juniper, parents Chesa and Matt Peter

Our Pre-K classes will have a fun day of Cross-Country Skiing on Wednesday, March 10. Each class will meet at the Nordic Centre at their scheduled time. Please remember that there are no regular classes for Pre-K on that day.

Looking ahead to March, we will be exploring the fun and familiar theme of Nursery Rhymes….and of course, Green days to celebrate St.Patrick’s day!

Our main event in March is our Registration Night and AGM for the 2021-22 school year. The event will take place virtually on Thursday, March 4, at 7:00pm. We are so proud of your children’s accomplishments this year and we hope you will continue to learn and grow with us next year.

May the luck of the Irish be with you this month and beyond!

PreK Cross Country SkiingWednesday, March 10th – No regular PreK classes on this day!This is a regular class day for the 3yo PM class only.March 10th will be a special day for our PreK classes. Parents, please plan to bring your child to the Nordic Centre, with a helmet, and stay for the hour-long lesson (schedule below). Follow all COVID-19 Guidelines from the Nordic Centre. Please have Permission Slips; which have been emailed; returned by March 4th. This event is at no cost for parents. Thanks!

● Claire’s PreK morning class, arrive Nordic Centre at 9:00am, lesson 9:30-10:30am.

● Carmen’s PreK morning class, arrive Nordic Centre at 10:30am, lesson 11:00am-12:00pm.

● Carmen’s PreK afternoon class, arrive Nordic Centre at 12:30am, lesson 1:00-2:00pm.

Register for 2021-2022 School Year:1. Complete the online registration & $45 fee.

2. On March 4, attend AGM via Google Meets.The meeting has 2 purposes –

o Annual General Meetingo Board Election – Society members

(you!) elect the volunteer board for the following year. We cannot make class lists until there is a full board.

The meeting will last about an hour.

If there are too many applicants for a particular class then classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis (excluding Board Members).

Volunteer for the Board! This is the only way to guarantee your class placement. A board position fulfills your volunteer hours for the year. We are still seeking the following positions:

Children’s Events CoordinatorOrganizes special activities for the Preschool children. This involves coordinating classroom visitors and field trips on behalf of the Preschool.Fundraising CoordinatorOversees all Fundraising events. Is a member of the Finance Committee.Volunteer CoordinatorManages the Preschool’s Volunteer Efforts, tracking Volunteer Hours. This position communicates regularly with the Administrative Assistant.Artisans’ Market CoordinatorHelps to organize the Christmas Artisans’ Market.
