GENERAL ACTIVITY

1. Social: As you find content that is can be shared via social, please send it to Angel for use on social media. We are working to keep active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

FacebookWe currently have 1,341 likes/followers on our page. Growth in Likes continues at a steady pace. We are losing a few folks here and there.

Facebook fundraiser: Campaign starts Monday for two weeks. That will give donors a 3 week break before Omaha Gives starts.

1. Fundraiser mailing and email: We’ve written a simple letter, that is under review with Sakura. We’re using the data for the one-sided flyer with our 2018 accomplishments that will be mailed along with the current brochure.

However, questions regarding messaging have come up that I am unable to clearly answer and I am seeking Board input/approval on phrasing:

a. What will funds raised go towards specifically? “Is it OK to say: Funds raised will go towards helping us raise awareness of human trafficking right here in the Omaha metro area and provide education on the signs of trafficking.” Or do we need to be more specific?

Do we know what’s in each committee’s budget yet?

2. Omaha Gives, May 22: The application to participate was completed on the Omaha Gives! site and we have been approved to participate. We need to let the ND Sisters know that we are doing our own page this year so that they can make the edits needed for their site. WHO WANTS TO CONTACT NDS IN JOHN’S ABSENSE?

Omaha Gives! Draws an organization’s name every hour on the hour for a$1,000 prize. We’re asking all board members to sign up for an hour to donate the minimum of $10 between midnight and 7AM. These overnight hours have considerably fewer donors so our chances of winning are greatly increased.

A sign-up sheet for hours will be made available on Thursday.

3. Donor management software: Since we are moving from the Notre Dame Sisters to send donation acknowledgements, receipts and thank you’s in June, and knowing how important these activities are to donor marketing, I began to look at Littlegreenlight.com is donor management software to help us track, categorize, thank and further pursue donors.

I set up a trial/draft account. The software costs $39 per month. We would need someone to enter in the information we do have—some of which can be uploaded en masse from the data I am putting together from those who signed up to receive a newsletter, our past donors information from PayPal and the info from NDS.

An Excel file might work for us in the short term if the Board feels that’s needed. It’s not the end all be all of donor management software, but it should do the trick until we hire an Executive Director who can make the selection of their own donor software based on their own fundraising strategy. The data should be able to be downloaded and reuploaded to different platforms when the decision is made to switch.

While I thought keeping the info on an excel sheet would do the trick, I think the sooner we can switch to a formal donor platform, the better. With the lack of staff to do this work, we need to automate as much as possible.

4. OneDrive: So it doesn’t appear that the OneDrive is being utilized at all for whatever reason. As such, I propose we consider a Board Portal on the notrafficking.org website. The portal will provide easier access to documents. The link to the portal is at the bottom of the page and the password to access the page is CHT2019!
