advised to self-isolate or socially distance ourselves from our friends and family. Our normal structure and routine will be impossible to continue. We

hope to support our families with nursery children during this tricky time and hopefully share ideas to make things a little more manageable and fun.

Science & TechnologyBee-Bot:We love bee-bot at Dalmeny and we use him to explore directions. There is a free app you can download on to any android or Apple tablet or phone. It’s a great way to explore and practice directions and left and right. You can even pretend to be your own bee-bot and give your little one directions to different places in your home or garden.Lego Challenge :There is an unlimited amount of things you can do with Lego. Give your child a challenge? Can you build me a robot? Then chat about what their robot looks like why they’ve done that and what special powers their robot might have? Can you build me a tower that’s taller than 20 bricks high? What about a castle for a King and Queen? If you don’t have Lego don’t worry Duplo, building blocks or even old junk modelling would work the very same.

Musical Chairs – To play musical chairs you will need to place the chairs next to each other in a line or circle so the players can walk around them. If, for example, there are 4 players playing then you will need 3 chairs so the person who does not sit down when the music pauses is out. Each round you take a chair away until there are two players left with one chair. Whoever sits on the chair first when the music stops are the winner! https://www.wikihow.com/Play-Musical-ChairsIdeas of action songs that encourage children to move while singing: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4eueDYPTIgShake Our Sillies Out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwT5oX_mqS0Hop Little Bunnies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRjsyzbvqsc

Cardboard Tube Fish:Follow the link to find instructions to make these colourful fish. If you don’t have all the resources to decorate the tubes just use felt pens or paint to decorate them. If you can’t find cellophane make streamers from paper or ribbon instead. Make 4 or 5 fish and hang them from a stick to make a mobile. Have fun!
