Upgrading to TIBCO Nimbus 9

If you are upgrading from a previous major version you must first migrate your data to make it compatible with this version. Please refer to the TIBCO Nimbus Administration Guide for instructions on upgrading an existing installation and migrating your data.

After upgrading the Web Server it is advisable to stop the Web Server and delete the existing Cache table (default directory is C:\Nimbus Control\Cache). When the Web Server is restarted the new Cache table will be created which has improved indexing.

Important: If you are installing on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, please refer to the TIBCO Nimbus Installation Planning Guide for important information before installing TIBCO Nimbus 9.

If you have any questions regarding upgrading an existing installation please contact TIBCO Nimbus Support:

Summary Workaround

MHT-based scorecards do not open in Mozilla Firefox.

To allow users to view an MHT-based scorecard, users must install the UnMHT addon in Firefox. This can be downloaded from:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unmht/

The UnMHT addon does not fully support MHT-based scorecards, therefore users may notice some issues with formatting and some embedded images may not be present.

When exporting a scope of diagrams to XML using an existing CSF file from a previous version, you may receive the error below. This is due to the new folder virtualization that's been implemented in v9.

"Error: Specified map <map name> cannot be exported because it does not exist."

To rectify this you must edit your old CSF files. Instructions on how to create and structure CSF files can be found in the TIBCO Nimbus Administration Guide (under Administration/Importing and Exporting/Exporting Diagrams to XML).

Intermittent failure of web page requests due to exception class 'EScriptError' and error type 'is null or not an object'.

To fix this problem on Windows Server 2008 R2 you can install Internet Explorer 9, then install the security update 'Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 in Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 (KB2618444)'.
