PHOTOGRAPHY FOR WEB
In the early days of websites, the
value of professional photography
as an important content was often
considered by both clients and photographers as a minimal use. Clients pulled together what ever photography was available or
when discussing with photographers didn’t think they should need
to pay as much “since it was only going to be used on a website”.
Over the years the value of photography for the web has changed dramatically with realistic budgets for professional work and a recognition that this work needed to be very good.
INCORPORATING PHOTOGRAPHY INTO WEB DESIGN
Almost everyone has a website these days. For a website to stand above the others it needs a collection of several elements working together.
These elements include: Balance
Grid
Color
Graphics*
Typography
White Space
Connection
GRAPHICS > PHOTOGRAPHY
A well designed website is very
important, but if your choice of
photography is poor, all that
hard work could come to nothing.
A visually arresting site can be the difference between a sale/inquiry and the customer leaving your site prematurely.
