Electronic commerce is usually associated with buying and selling via the Internet. This is a very partial vision, because e-commerce is any form of commercial transaction in which the parties interact electronically instead of by physical contact.

EDI or Electronic Data Interchange enables the interchange of standardized documents between the IT systems of trading partners.

The standardized nature of these documents is the essential difference between EDI and other information exchanging systems. What do I need for EDI?

Standard Language:Interchanging electronic information requires a standardized language shared by sender and receiver to structure the messages. There are different standards, such as EDIFACT, X12, XML, etc.

EDI software:Sender and receiver must have an EDI solution to construct and manage the messages according to the standard in which the interchanges are to take place.

Communications Network:EDI interchanges call for secure communications systems adapted to the peculiarities of this type of transaction. There are different options available, although the most widespread are VANs or Value Added Networks. These are private communications networks with high levels of security, control and monitoring that guarantee the correct sending and reception of different messages.

EDIWIN VIEWER is the Web EDI application developed by EDICOM for electronic document interchange (invoices, orders, shipment notices, etc.) provided to CARREFOUR BELGIUM. It will enable you to operate via the Internet with CARREFOUR BELGIUM and also depending on your needs with the majority of your customers and providers.

Integrated in the EDICOM Technological Platform, it allows user access via an Internet connection, with the databases, communications, hardware and software resources managed in our own facilities.

The application automates part of the document creation processes using systems of automatic generation from other messages. This way, the construction of documents such as invoices is accelerated by automating part of their generation on the basis of the orders received.

The solution also supports electronic signatures, ideal for electronic invoicing projects.

Invoices sent and received with digital signatures have complete legal validity, remain in our document repository for the period set by law, with total availability, retrieval and visibility guaranteed. In this way, the Ediwin Viewer user can avoid document printing and storage.

Screens, which are either generic, or adapted to the requirements of CARREFOUR BELGIUM, make the preparation of messages such as shipment notices or invoices simpler, faster and more intuitive.

With Ediwin Viewer you can create logistic labels from the shipment notice, generating the information required by the receiver, including bar codes. This way, no investment is needed in additional software for the generation of these labels, since the electronic document that is created serves as the basis for the printout.

The application lets us obtain a great variety of commercial information, enabling printing of the transactions sent and received via EDI.
