New Associate Director of Honors College The bonding, the learning and
the struc tured chal lenges created by our Honor Society chapters are what makes
participation so meaningful to students. This spring, Profes sor Sabin Duncan will per
sonally visit each chapter across the country to: • Assess current activities,
• Collaboratively brainstorm for future chapter planning,
• Present himself as an accessible resource, and
• Assist sponsors in increasing the learn ing opportunities in their chapter.
We recognize the jewel we have in these uniquely spe cial chapters and seek to provide you with increased support to further enhance your chapter. We’ll see you soon!!
New member packages are $7. Students receive an induction certificate, membership card and a lapel pin. The graduation package is $10; includes an Encomium and graduation cords which are black and gold.
The yearly affiliation fee is due in January. We have kept that fee at $10 so that all chapters can remain affiliated. We much prefer for your resources to be expended to benefit your local program. Please send to W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Society

College Tour and Mentoring Program
The Du Bois students of MHS took a college tour last fall visiting several universities for onsite admissions and to visit a couple for mer Du Bois graduates that are now attend ing Howard University and George Mason University. MHS also received $2000 from Dupont, their corporate sponsor. The money received was used for the college tour and to add improvements to the MHS mentoring program. How have they improved their program? MHS has improved their mentor ing program by adding professionals from other fields that were not currently being of fered at Dupont. The students will have an opportunity to job shadow this spring with their new mentors. MHS Students on College Tour
