Fleet is:
The set of a company’s commercial motor vehicles such as cars, vans, trucks,
ships etc.
Fleet management of a company's vehicle fleet
associates with:
• vehicle financing
• vehicle maintenance
• vehicle tracking and diagnostics
• driver management
• fuel management
• health & safety management
Web Based, because:
Fleet Management System:
• reduces costs
• keeps data organized
• allows easy information access
• performs faster iterations
• gives better fleet observability
Types:
• Fleet maintenance
• Tool management
• Warehouse management
• GPS tracking
• it is device, platform and browser independent
• allows the users to access it at “anytime” and from “anywhere”
• improves team coordination
Project Goals:
• Lower expenses
• Improved Workflow
• Better dispatch
• Good interactivity
• Flexibility
Benefits:
• To explore fleet management processes
• To research for common and basic
problems related to fleet maintenance
• To develop experimental model for fleet
management information system
realized in World Wide Web
environment.
Texar Bulgaria
The administrative structure in Texar -
Bulgaria represents a hierarchical system:Texar is a French company
operating in Bulgaria in the
fields of dressmaking.
Texar has a fleet of around
40 cars in Bulgaria, planning
to extend it in the near future.
The Stages of Software Development:
1. Information Architecture & Information Flow
2. Database Structure
3. User Interface Design
4. Front-End Development
5. Back-End Development
Tiers
Applications are usually broken into logical chunks called "tiers", where every
tier is assigned a role.
1. Presentation tier – CSS, xHTML, jQuery
2. Application tier - PHP, jQuery
3. Storage tier - MySQL Database
Database Structure
Task Scheduling and Assignment
• Once per n days
• Every nth day of the month
• Every nth month of the year
• After n thousand kilometers
Several types of scheduling exist:
Schedule
Assign User
Task Added
Add Task Info
Assigned Tasks > 6
(Today - Start Date) >= Time Period

System Specification:
• File Architecture
• Authentication
• Data request and visualization
• Application Navigation
• Listing Information
• Edit and Delete Data
• Scheduling
Conclusion
The automated web based Fleet Management System offers new
possibilities for workflow planning and organization by:
• Running a well structured database
• Guaranteeing fast and easy information access
• Guaranteeing data protection
• Improving dispatch
• Presenting good interactivity and flexibility
