CONNECTION Calvary January 2020 / Monthly Newsletter of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church NEW One of the most powerful words in advertizing, the word “NEWis right up there with “Free” and “Guaranteed.” Those words capture people’s attention. They indicate that what follows is worth reading or listening to. So…as we face this NEW Year, you’ll want to perk up and pay attention! NEW for 2020 is our Schedule with Worship as well as Calvary Kids and Adult Bible Study at both 9:00 am and 10:45 am. Plus, don’t forget our NEW extended fellowship time from the end of the first ser- vice until about 10:40 am in the Fellowship Hall. Since December 1, a growing crowd has been enjoying that time together over coffee and refreshments. We anticipate NEW staff members in 2020 to provide care and oversight for Calvary’s ministries since Pastors Rick and Tom and Dar- lene Rehrig are fully retired. The search for NEW pastoral staff members is underway and in the office our NEW assistants, Melanie Wenger and Sue Arthur are sharing responsibilities under the capable leadership of Cindy Kaufman. Have a need? Call the church office and our pastors and staff will be here for you. The Building Committee is busy making plans for our NEW ex- pansion/renovation plan. Jody Rennie and Steve Behrens are leading the way in that area. Watch for updates early in 2020. Join us on January 26 for our Annual Congregational Meeting for an update on these and other exciting NEW advances in the ministry of Calvary Church. Please remember that with all that is NEW, the timeless and changeless Truth of the Gospel in the Word of God is and always will be the foundation and focus of all ministry at Calvary. Our Lord is a “never changing God for an ever-changing world!” See you Sunday!

Storms come. Life has many challenges. How will we navigate these troubles with steadiness and hope? In our sessions, we will look at several passages from God’s word to help us think through what it looks like to be rooted in Jesus Christ in such a way that it actually changes us and allows us to live a life grounded in the Lord, and abounding in thankfulness. Lisa Bomgardner is a wife, and mother of 4 young adult children. She is passionate about encouraging women to love Jesus and serve Him in their everyday lives.
