Weathering and ErosionObjective: Define and identify two types of slow processes that change the landforms on our Earth.
-
Did You Know?Did you know that our Earth is changing everyday? Some changes happen quickly. Example- VolcanoSome changes happen slowly. Example- Weathering and Erosion
-
What is Weathering and Erosion?Weathering- is the breaking down of rocks. This is caused by- wind, water, ice, and root growth.
Erosion- is the movement of rocks from one place to another. This is caused by- wind, water, and gravity.

$1,000,000.01 Questions!Where does sand come from?-from larger pieces of rock
How is sand made?-from weathering~ wind, water, ice, root growth
-
Lets look at how landforms can weather and erode by the wind.
-
This rock has been weathered by the wind.
Pieces of the rock eroded away by the wind
-
More landforms that have weathered and eroded by the wind.
-
Lets look at how landforms can weather and erode by water.
-
As the water moves, what might happen to the land over time?
-
This land has been weathered by moving water.
