National Summary...The Bank Holiday Weekend will be cloudier in the North on Saturday but many areas will enjoy a day of sunshine and warm sunny spells. Some rain may edge into South East England later. Sunday will be very similar and temperatures a couple of degrees high for most. Monday will see Sunny spells for most but a risk of Thunderstorms edging into some Southern parts of the UK Later. Monday will be a warm (locally very warm) day for Central and Southern UK. Tuesday will be a calmer day but a little fresher. Wednesday may be quite a cloudy day in the North as a weak weather front tries to edge in. Central and Southern areas will have the best weather though even here there will be some cloud around. The rest of the week currently looks very sunny with temperatures on the rise and possibly turning very warm. There is still time for change but in the Midlands and South East in particular, temperatures may hover around or near the hot category. Isolated storms may be triggered by these temperatures but with the influence of High Pressure not many will form if any.

The next week is open to plenty of change but currently it looks like High Pressure will slowly loosen its grip over the UK and allow Lower Pressure to take over. This will mean heavy showers and Storms are more likely to develop. Its possible that the high temperatures may hold on until at least midweek. Looking at the current charts, 27c cant be ruled out. After Midweek temperatures look to fall back a little bit but temperatures remaining between 18-22c seems likely.

To summarise, High Pressure will be building and much of next week looks dry with temperatures rising by the end of the week. Locally very warm or near Hot for Central and Southern parts. Warm to very warm in the North. By the 2nd week, Low Pressure may start to try and take over bringing the risk of storms and temperatures tapering off slightly though remaining warm.

There is plenty of time for a lot of change yet but currently, it looks a very warm and settled spell of weather is on the way.

The UV index can be strong through cloud even when the sun isn't directly shining. If you go out, wear lightweight, light-coloured clothing, high factor sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat. Avoid being in the sun for long stretches. Reapply an appropriate factor sun cream at regular intervals during the day.
