HazratHasanBasari(d.110AH)saysthattheHolyCompanionsusedtoplacetheirforeheadsovertheirturbans

andcapsduringprostration(toprotectthemselvesfromtheheatoftheground).(Bukhari2/1371)

Imam Tirmizi reports that they used to let the end of their amamas (turbans) hang down between theirshoulders(overtheirbacks)becausetheyhadcometoknowthatthegloriousProphet(peacebeuponhim)had

done this.TheHolyProphet (peacebeuponhim) isalso reported tohave tied the turbanonHazratAbdur

RahmanBinAuf'shead.

Hazrat IbneUmar reports thatwhen theHolyMessenger (peacebeuponhim)wore turban,hewouldhang

down its end between his shoulders (over his back).HazratNafi' says that IbnUmar (r,a) used to do that.

Ubaidullahsays thathesawQasimBinMuhammad (BinAbuBakr)andSalim (BinAbdullahBinUmar)do the

same.(TirmiziinShamail,takenfromKhasaileNabawip.162)

Regardingtheheaddress,there isalsoaverbalhadith fromtheProphet(peacebeuponhim):Thedifference

betweenourheaddressandthatoftheUnbelieversisthatwewearturbansovercaps(whiletheywearturbanswithoutcaps).(Tirmizi).

FAR EAST COUNTRIES SUCH AS CHINA, MALAYSIA, INDONESIA, THAILAND, AND IN

INDIA, MUSLIMS NEVER FORGET TO WEAR CAP WHILE PERFORMING SALAAH.

coveredwhetherwithaturbanoratleastwithacap.ImamTabaranireportstwohadithsfromHazratIbnUmar

whichsaysthattheholyProphet(saw)usedtowearwhitecapsMajmuaaZawaid5/12

NowitisuptoustofollowProphets(peacebeuponhim)Sunnahornot.

And he who turns away from my Sunnah, he has no relation with Me- SahihMuslim, Kitab al Nikkah, Book No: 8 Hadith No: 3236.

And whatsoever the messenger gives you, take it. And whatsoever he forbids, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal- H.Quraan: 59:7

He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over

their (evil deeds)- H.Quraan: 4:80
