ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON CHURCH BAKERSFIELD, CA

We’re Moving! Over the next two weeks, we will be making the transition into our new building. Our current office (on Montbatten Place) will be relocating and, as a result, the office staff may not be accessible for a few days. Please be patient with us. You can still call the same number but please leave a message if necessary. Our phone number and FAX number will remain the same. Our new address is 12300 Reina Road. Msgr. Perry will have limited office hours as he joins in the work of relocating. Appointments can still be made with him by calling the parish office. Thank you.

Thank you! As our parish family prepares to move into its new home, we take this opportunity to thank everyone who has given of their time, talent and treasure so that our parish can be what it is today. Even without our own building for the past 7 years, we have grown and prospered in our ministries. We are grateful to God for all who remained steadfast in their support of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish these initial years. May we continue to grow and expand our ministry to God’s people as we take up residence these next few weeks. Our first Masses will be Saturday, April 25 at 4:30 pm and Sunday, April 26 at 7:30, 9:30, and 11:30 am. We hope that all who have not yet be-come registered members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will choose to do so. We need your support and presence to keep growing!

EASTER SUNDAY APRIL 5, 2015

“Rejoice! Jesus lives! Alleluia!” Such acclamations of joy were probably common among the first Christians on that first Easter day when the body of Jesus was missing from the tomb. Later, Mary Magdalene and, then, the apostles, saw Jesus risen from the dead. Can you imagine the out-cry of joy and happiness that these men and women experienced knowing that Jesus was alive?! It would be like seeing one of our own deceased loved one again! Of course, it would be very frightening but, eventually, tears of joy would follow such an en-counter. The beauty of Easter is that it promises us just that—we will see our loved ones again on the day of resur-rection. Just as Jesus was raised, body and spirit, to new life, so too, we will be raised to a new life along with all who have died. What a glorious and power-ful moment that will be! But, We don’t have to wait until we are raised from the dead before we celebrate new life. Each and eve-ry day, we are called to witness to the Resurrection of Jesus by our words that give hope and our actions that provide comfort. In a world that is noted for its doom and gloom, we can be messengers of the Good News that the God has not abandoned us to death. Rather, he is the God of life and we will experience that life forever! May each of us proclaim with joy our belief that Jesus is Risen! Alleluia! Msgr. Perry Easter Mass Intentions Let us remember our beloved dead in our Easter Masses today. In a special way, we remember: Margaret Haberman, Manuel E. Fungo, Sr., Celina Corazon Fungo, Jay Kinder, Roy Saunders, Greta Kreiger, Michael McAffee, Mary Valine, Dennis Marquez, John Denvir, Sr. and Mouy Phabmyxay May they rejoice in the Resurrection!

Easter Prayer Loving God

Raise me up! Renew my life! Father of life, I see the light again! I was in darkness and had lost hope

but Jesus Christ, your son, has won out over death - for me.

I celebrate today, your love, the life you give me. I feel your presence

as you breathe on my mind and open my heart.

So many times in my life my eyes are closed

but today I see the risen Lord in the breaking of the bread.

Thank you for this morning of hope, thank you for such incredible love.

Amen.
