The Packshed Restaurant is situated inside the

120ha Sweetdale Estate just a few minutes

outside of Margate in a picturesque, lush

setting. Enjoy the unique outdoor wedding

ceremony area in front of The Packshed

Restaurant. The design of the ceremony area is

concepted around a steel arch in front of an

impressive rusted wall combined with

handcrafted wooden furniture inside a calm

surrounding of the coastal flora and fauna.

Many romantic spots such as a stony riverbank,

golden grass fields and tranquil dams all are at

your disposal to capture your personal wedding

moments. The venue seats up to 200 guests

and provides everything a perfect wedding can

ask for.

Pricing and Venue Details

Our venue hire for 2020 / 2021 up to 160 guests

is ZAR 7’250 for The Packshed restaurant.

This includes the following:

§ The dedication and service of our excellent

and well-trained waiters, bar staff and chefs

§ 200 handcrafted wooden chairs and square

wooden tables

§ Wooden cocktail tables for the welcome

reception

§ Lanterns for tables with paraffin

§ Luxury cutlery and glasses (white-wine, red-

wine, champagne, water)

§ Fairy lights on the terrace and firewood for

the outside booma and inside fire place

§ Generator to keep the restaurant up and

running in case of load shedding

For the beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony

area we charge ZAR 4’850 for up to 160 guests.

This includes handcrafted wooden benches,

electricity, white sun/rain umbrellas (1 for 2

guests), an impressive arch in front of a rusted

steel wall and magnificent views into the

coastal bush.

Terms and Conditions Being fully licensed there is a corkage fee for wine (ZAR 65) and champagne (ZAR 85). If you like to bring cupcakes, doughnuts or something similar for dessert as a kind of wedding cake we charge ZAR 20 p.p. At The Packshed we pride ourselves on providing you and your guests with a world-class service. We truly believe that our offering is second to none and with that comes great dedication and commitment from the entire team to ensure your wedding weekend is nothing short of memorable. We recommend a gratuity of 10% on the final food and beverage amount. Overtime surcharge of R1900 per hour or part thereof will be charge from 24:00 on a Friday, Saturday as well as a Public holiday and from 22:00 any weekday as well as on Sunday. The amount of food, in our “buffet packages” are carefully calculated and are never “all-you-can-eat” - unless stated. There will be enough food but restricted to a certain time and calculation. Please inform in advance by what time your function will end. Breakage of any cutlery, glasses or napkins will be invoiced to the guest/organizer. Please inform us as of which time you would like to make use of The Packshed venue (set-up of decoration, band/DJ). The Packshed shall not be held liable for power cuts or electrical faults. Please also note that it is not permitted to bring any external food or beverages on to the premises unless per-arranged with the owners. To confirm your booking, we charge a 50% deposit of the total amount or of the minimum spend. The final balance is payable 2 weeks before your Function (this figure is calculated following the meeting to discuss your final details approximately 2-3 weeks prior to your function).
