Stack and Whack is back!
Those of you who have been around the block, no pun intended, remember this technique from days gone by. It is still as fun and magical as it used to be. For anyone who has not tried it, Stack-n-Whack is an easy way to create quilt blocks with unique kaleidoscope designs. These designs require a set of identical pieces cut from a print fabric. Rather than finding and cutting each piece individually, you can cut and layer a number of large, identical print rectangles to make a stack. Each triangle or wedge cut from the stack produces a block with a kaleidoscope effect. Like most other things to do with quilting, this also can become very addictive.
Teacher: Sue Dimmell Date: Wednesday November 23rd & 30th Time: 10 – 4 Cost: $80
Tucker Time
We have discovered a line of rulers and patterns that are just terrific. They are from Studio 180 Designs by Deb Tucker. We have featured some of them in demo‟s at the shop and they have been very popular. They work well for everyday quilting, not just specific patterns. This class is the first in a series of classes that we are featuring. It will focus on the Victorious pattern and using the V Block Ruler. So, if you have the ruler and aren‟t sure what to do with it, or if you love the look of the blocks you get with the ruler but don‟t want to figure out that math, come to class and be amazed! Teacher: Sue Dimmell Date: Monday November 28th & December 5th Time: 10 – 4 Cost: $80
Autumn Runner
Another excellent pattern by Eleanor Burns. This quick and easy runner pattern comes with the template. It also has another variation - you can turn the leaves into turkeys! It is very cute. We did the store sample with Kaufman Fusions. You can choose your own colours or get a kit just like the sample. This class is fun and you will be all but done when you leave. Teacher: Mary Lou Stephenson Date: Tuesday November 29th Time: 10 – 4 Cost: $40
