We Want You Back!

Dear Friends,

The 2017 Choral Festival Committee is pleased

to invite you to participate in this year’s festival.

We are excited to once again have the

opportunity to partner with the Gateway

Playhouse in Bellport as our concert venue.

This year we are joined by new partners at the

Bayport United Methodist Church, where we

will rehearse in air-conditioned comfort.

Yippee!

The dates for this year’s festival are again at the

end of July (7/24 to 7/30) due to Gateway’s

Bellport schedule. Thankfully, we will continue

to enjoy the comfort and atmosphere of this

beautiful venue for our 23rd Annual Choral

Festival Concert. Please see the back of this

flyer for detailed festival date/time information.

Eric Blatt and Martha Campanile return this

year to conduct portions of the program with

some challenging and enriching selections.

Alan Rubenstein, recently retired from the

Syosset School District, will take the podium for

part of the program as well. Martin is taking

this summer off as he celebrates a special

occasion with family during festival week.

Come and join us! If you haven’t sung with us

in a while, we would love to welcome you back!

Misa Criolla ..................... Ariel Ramirez The Misa Criolla is the most famous work of Argentine composer, Ariel Ramirez (1921-2010). Composed in 1964 as one of the first masses in the national idiom of Argentina, Ramírez used not only the language of his country but also the Latin rhythms of Argentina.

John Rutter Summertime ................. George Gershwin arr. M. Hayes Beauty and the Beast Medley ... A. Laudate Dominum, a much-loved work by Mozart, is a welcome addition along with the beautiful Liebsleider Waltzes by Brahms! (We do love our classics!) And Shenandoah will surely make the heart sing along!
