NEW OFFICE HOURS

Throughout August the Parish Office will close on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 PM. There will be no office hours on Thursday and Friday nights. The weekend hours remain the same from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays and on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

AIR CONDITIONING COLLECTION takes place today. The parish is fortunate to have a cool and comfortable church to worship in Sunday after Sunday and during the week. However, as you can guess, the expense for such air conditioning in a large church is very high. YELLOW air conditioning offering envelopes are available in the church. Thank you for your contribution.

THE ALTAR FLOWERS for the week were donated in Loving Memory of

Dear Parishioners,

How many of you remember the New York Mets jingle? All of it???

“Meet the Mets. Meet the Mets. Step right up and greet the Mets! Bring your kiddies, bring your wife;

guaranteed to have the time of your life because the Mets are really sockin’ the ball, knocking those home

runs over the wall! East side, west side, everyone’s coming down to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York

town!”

The jingle is much longer and may sound a bit corny in today’s music world but, without any slight to

Yankee fans in the parish, the Diocese of Brooklyn is

having “Catholic Day” at CitiField on Saturday, September

9th and it will a day for all Catholics in the Diocese to join

together for prayer, food and entertainment and an evening

ballgame between the New York Mets and Cincinnati

Reds. Today’s bulletin contains an attractive flyer about

the day’s activities beginning with Mass at the ballpark

celebrated by Bishop DiMarzio and how to purchase

tickets.

In addition, a block of tickets have been assigned to each

parish for the low price of $15.00 per person on a first

come, first served basis. What a deal, what a steal!

In order to obtain these tickets please call the Parish Office

and leave your name, phone number and desired number

of tickets no later than next Sunday, August 27th. We will contact you when the tickets are delivered to the

parish. Otherwise feel free to order tickets at mets.com/CatholicNight.

Now, how about “Take Me out to the Ballgame?”

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL EXAM (TACHS). The exam will be given on Saturday, November 4th, offering a chance to attend one of nineteen different Catholic high schools in Brooklyn and Queens. All eighth grade students and their parents are asked to call 1-866-61TACHS or visit www.tachsinfo.com for registration and more information.

OLS CATHOLIC ACADEMY OFFICE will be open for school registration, tuition payments, school tours and other information from 9:00AM to 12Noon on this Tues., Aug. 22nd and Wed., Aug. 23rd. In addition, the office will be open the week ofAug. 28th - Aug. 31st from 8:00AM to 3:00PM and Sept. 1st from 8:00AM to 12Noon. Also, school registration packets are available in the Parish Office. Take the opportunity to offer your child a quality Catholic education at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy this Fall.

CLOTHING DRIVE. The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be at Our Lady of the Snows on Saturday, September 16th from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon. Now is the time to search the drawers and closets for clothing items, clean and in good shape, to help those less fortunate. We kindly ask you to bring the clothing on that day only and the St. Vincent de Paul Society in the parish thanks you for your donations.

FILIPINO CONCERT sponsored by the Our Lady of the Snows Fil-Am Community takes place in the church on Sunday, Sept. 24th at 3:00PM. The concert, “On Eagle’s Wings,” will feature the Voice of Friendship Singers with Mr. Eric Joyner on the piano and the baritone voice of Mr. Marvin Gayatgay. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the church doors. For tickets and more information please contact Rosebelle Cadelina at 646-441-8720 or Emma Rafol at 917-518-7781.

Gracious God and Father, we enter into your presence realizing you know us better than we know ourselves. You know the cares and sufferings we carry in our hearts. You call us to holiness and we trust you to lead us together on our journey to be a renewed Church, for with you all things are possible. Create us anew in Jesus Christ your Son. Liberate us from all that keeps us from you. Heal us from every form of sin and violence. Transform us to live your Word more profoundly. Awaken us to the sacred; rebuild trust among us.
