Dear Parishioners,
You may notice a repeat in today’s bulletin about the 2018 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). Last week’s bulletin contained a
flyer about the Appeal but it was illegible because of the print. I ask everyone to read about the ACA today and prayerfully consider your sacrificial offering to “Answer the Call” supporting the work of God throughout the Diocese. Take some time also to view the appeal video at www.dioceseofbrooklyn.org. Thank you to those in the parish who already have made a pledge with the mailing received at home and please know every gift, great or small, is very much appreciated.
I am in awe and ever grateful to the countless ways you support not only the work in the Diocese but in the parish as well. Whether it is weekly donations in the collection, participating in our “Compassion In Action” Lenten Food Drive, making an offering on Supper Bowl Sunday or bringing breakfast items for the Easter Dawn Mass you are always there to lend a hand.
The same hold true in parish and school events like the Parish Mission, Restaurant Night, car wash, and others. You are there. At funerals, Memorial Masses, weddings, Holy Week celebrations, you are there. And in times of emergencies, unexpected occurrences and special needs, you are there.
With this in mind, as mentioned elsewhere in the bulletin, our new parish fundraiser, RADIO BINGO, takes place this Saturday, March 24th in Bishop Chappetto Hall. The doors open at 7:00 PM and it is guaranteed to be an exciting and fun night of music, dancing, prizes and raffles. Tickets ($25.00 per adult) are available this week in the Parish Office and come along with family, friends, fellow parishioners- form a table with your own favorite finger foods to share together and we’ll supply the beverages! DJ’s@Work from Rockaway Beach will play the tunes of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s as well as Motown, Disco, Rock and Roll, and it’s going to be a memorable night when Bingo meets “Name That Tune!”
Indeed, dear friends, your presence and support is appreciated by everyone at Our Lady of the Snows and now especially as Holy Week draws near we will be together to pray and grow in our love of the Paschal Mystery.
Thank you and God bless you.
FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION. Parents
whose children attend public school during the week
are reminded to register their
children for Faith Formation classes. Please

the opportunity to come to confession in any church on “Reconciliation Monday.” Here at Our
Lady of the Snows the priests will hear confessions on “Reconciliation Monday” between the hours
of 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. We hope that these varied
times will allow every parishioner including children to join with the People of God in New York to celebrate the
sacrament of Penance before Easter.
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY is on Sunday, April 8th.

VOCATION THOUGHT
Today's Gospel speaks of the great potential of the
grain of wheat that falls to the ground and dies. The
Parish Vocations Committee would like to share some
words from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI about this
image that Jesus gives us.
"It is a challenging and uplifting invitation that
Jesus addresses to those to whom he says: “Follow
me!” He invites them to become his friends, to listen
attentively to his word and to live with him. He
teaches them complete commitment to God and to the
extension of his kingdom in accordance with the law
of the Gospel: “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the
earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears
much fruit” (Jn 12:24). . . .He gives them an
experience of fraternity, one born of that total
openness to God. . .which becomes the hallmark of
the community of Jesus: 'By this everyone will know
that you are my disciples, if you have love for one
another’ (Jn 13:35).
“It is no less challenging to follow Christ today. It
means learning to keep our gaze fixed on Jesus,
growing close to him, listening to his word and
encountering him in the sacraments; it means learning
to conform our will to his. . . . Particularly in these
times, when the voice of the Lord seems to be
drowned out by 'other voices' and his invitation to
follow him by the gift of one’s own life may seem too
difficult, every Christian community, every member
of the Church, needs consciously to feel responsibility
for promoting vocations."
WHAT”S FOR DINNER? Everyone is invited to
share in some good food and company this Thursday,
March 22nd from 11:00AM to 8:00PM at Chipotle
Mexican Grill, New Hyde Park Road (Adjacent to
Shoprite.) It’s a fundraiser for Our Lady of the Snows
Catholic Academy and announcement flyers are on
the tables in the Gathering Space. Bring the flyer with
you and 50% of the proceeds will be given to the
school. What a deal! Invite family, friends and fellow
parishioners to go to
dinner and at the
same time support
our school.
