E-Med has left no stone unturned. The call centre, based in Windhoek, operates 24 hours a day seven days a week, and staffed

by multi lingual and Basic Life Support clinicians. The HIT system (Healthcare Information Technology) as well as the CRM pro-

gram (Customer Relation Management) provides the call centre with specialised technology, enabling the call centre operator

to gain immediate excess to membership information of the medical aid funds and insurance policyholders who are contracted

E-Med.

In an emergency, when you might not be able to speak for yourself, a medical bracelet or necklace speaks for you, this is also

obtainable from E-Med. All information is linked to our CRM program which provides our call centre staff with all your vital in-

formation.

Operators also gauge whether a call would require road or air evacuation, before dispatching the request to the nearest re-

sponse centre for appropriate action.

E-Med Rescue 24 is Namibia’s first wholly locally owned emergency medical evacuation company. E-Med Rescue 24 is a 24-hour-

a-day, seven-day-a-week, emergency rescue and paramedical service company. It focuses on advanced life support in the pre-

hospital setting. Usually advanced medical life support is provided to patients when they reach the hospital emergency rooms.

E-Med aims to take the services of the emergency room to the patient.

In a medical emergency, your life depends on fast, professional emergency medical evacuation / transportation. One telephone

number might mean the difference between life and death.

The cost of medical emergency evacuation can run from a couple of hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. Do not be caught

Recommended for Children The Infant Writable Silicone Band and Infant/Toddler Plate, consists of a soft silicone rubber band that is soft and com-fortable for infant fit. The Silicone Slim Wristband and Infant/Toddler Slim Wristband is designed for Toddlers. It does not have a Jaw-Clasp that can cause the bracelet to fall off easily. The Slim Dual Colour Band is recommended for Pre-Teens up to any age. This Bracelet contains a Two Jaw-Clasp and is adjustable to each Pre-teen fit.

FIRST AID KITS

A First Aid Kit is a collection of supplies and equipment that is used to provide medical assistance to the injured individual, in a pri-vate capacity or in a business. There is a wide variation in the contents of First Aid Kits based on the knowledge and experience of those putting it together, the differing First Aid requirements of the area where it may be used and variations in legislation or regu-lation in a given area. The international standard for First Aid Kits is that they should be identified with the ISO (standard) graphical symbol for first aid which is a white cross with a green background. Most modern First Aid Kits will contain a suitable barrier for performing artificial respiration as part of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These Kits are linked to the treatment or assistance in the following situations:

Airway, breathing (CPR) Trauma (Bandages, Dressings…) Personal protective equipment (Gloves, Anti-Septic Solution…) Instruments & Equipment (Gauze, Cotton Wool, Tweezers…)

It is also of great importance that the person in possession of a First Aid Kit is fully educated in the use of all items stocked. A Basic First Aid Class will assist in the education of CPR, wound treatment, early detection of basic general warning signs and basic emer-gency procedures in an emergency situation. Misuse of the First Aid Kit and its content can be extremely dangerous. The First Aid Kit will be stocked with general Medical Consumables and is not allowed by Law to be stocked with any medication of any sort as its contents! After purchase of the Kit each individual may stock medication themselves because this person will know the Medical history of his/her family!
