Theme: We have been given the breath of God -

the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Breaking Open the Word: Suggested text for

faith sharing: 1st Reading from Acts 2:1-11

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were

all in one place together. And suddenly there came

from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and

it filled the entire house in which they were. Then

there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which

parted and came to rest on each one of them. And

they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began

to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled

them to proclaim.

Now there were devout Jews from every nation un-

der heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they

gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused

because each one heard them speaking in his own

language. They were astounded, and in amazement

they asked, “Are not all these people who are

speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear

them in his native language? We are Parthians,

Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia,

Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia

and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya

near Cyrene, as well as travelers from Rome, both

Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs,

yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of

the mighty acts of God.”

Step One: Listen to the Word

As you listen to this dramatic reading again today,

what image strikes you in the story? What single

word or phrase catches your ear or touches your

heart?

Step Two: Look into Your Life

Question for Children: When have you heard

your inner voice or conscience guiding you to

do what is right?

Question for Youth: When have you felt the

Holy Spirit in your life?

Question for Adults: Share about times when

you felt the power of the Spirit, giving you the

right words, giving you insight into a dilemma,

or in other ways.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND OUR FACILITIES As you all know, we have had a brutal winter here at St. Ignatius Loyola and all over our Is-land. Many of you are dealing with broken sidewalks and driveways. We have the same problems here. Currently, work is being done along the edge outside of Rooms E & F in the Old School Building. Every time it rains, we have experienced flooding. My hope is that this work will allow the room to be dry. In the meantime, unfortunately, we cannot hold any functions in the room until the “all clear” sign is given. We will begin working on the parking lot soon. The first step is to take care of the parts that are broken along the priests garages and the minor depression. Once we receive approval, my hope is to work on the parking lot as a whole, most especially in the back. With all that has to be done, donations are greatly appreciated. More to come in the future.

Congratulations once again to our Fr. Benjamin on his Graduation from Hebrew University! God bless you!

.

May God bless you and Mary keep you and your families. May we remember to always do things for the

greater glory of God. St. Ignatius Loyola, pray for us!

Stewardship Thought for the Week Jesus is the perfect STEWARD—watching careful-

ly over all who had been entrusted to Him by the

Father and then sending them all out into the world

in service. May I similarly protect and wisely use

the gifts entrusted to me!

Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all STEWARDS in

our parish who recognize that although each of us

has our own unique gifts to share, our mission is

the same-to serve others and help build God’s

kingdom.
