Rotary’s part in Education
It’s Rotary Basic Education and Literacy Month and our Rotary Foundation
supports clubs around the world to participate in Literacy projects.
Literacy - the human right to be able to read & write - relates to peace,
gender equality, health, poverty eradication & democracy as reading and
learning is an effective weapon against intolerance and ignorance.

Congratulations Fred and Norma
on the newest addition.
Letters from our Mailbox
Letter from Tracey Nelson of South Thornlie Primary in response to our donation of Bricktober PlayTubs last week.
Hello Stephen,
Thank you again for the invitation to the Rotary meeting on Tuesday morning.
It was lovey to meet some of the members and to hear about some of the fabulous work that they do. The breakfast was delicious too!
However, the most amazing thing was the donation of the Lego. I was blown away by the amount of Lego that was so very generously donated to our Lego club.
I took both tubs to the Lego club at South Thornlie Primary on Tuesday afternoon and the kids, parents and staff were thrilled. The donation has easily doubled the amount of Lego for the kids to play with. The sand coloured base plates, wheels/axles and mini figs were particularly appreciated.
Our acting Principle, Mrs Sarah Hill has extended an invitation for yourself, your President and/or another available Rotarian to come to a school assembly next term. We would like to formally acknowledge the donation and to allow the whole school to recognise the contribution made. …
Thank you again for the donation and all the hard work that you and your team put into Bricktober. Hoping that this year's event is a resounding success.
Yours sincerely,
Tracey
