Next week, students will learn various multiplication strategies to solve 2 by 1 digit multiplication problems. Strategies include: partial products, area array method, repeated addition, and standard algorithm. PLEASE: Quiz your child on their multiplication facts any chance you get! Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding our first ever Scholastic Book Fair at SMS! CSW Dress Up Days: Monday – School Spirit Day Tuesday – Pajama Day Wednesday – Uniform Thursday – What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up Friday – Sports / Team Day Global Reading Challenge at 1 pm on Thursday in the Koinonia Room Important Dates: Jan 27-31 st - Catholic School’s Week / Spirit Week **Jan 29 th – Mass starts at 8:45 am** Jan 30 th – Global Reading Challenge Round 1 @ SMS @ 1pm Feb 10 th – Valentine’s Day Buddy Gift due Feb 13 th – Valentine’s Day Gift Exchange Next Week: ELA We finished reading The One and Only Ivan! We will review key comprehension concepts and vocabulary of the text before moving on. Our next novel : The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch The class focused on self control this week as their behavior goal. The motto is self control over their body, voices, and choices. Please feel free to use this motto at home as well if you see fit. Next week is Catholic School’s Week! Please note that Mass on Grand-friends day starts at 8:45 am! Students can go straight to the church with their grand-friends and leave their backpacks in the Koinonia Room. Any students without a grand-friend is welcome to sit with me or join a friend’s group. We love our Catholic School!
