FITO & FITIPALDISFito & Fitipaldis is a Spanish band formed in 1998. It was created by Fito Cabrales with the intention of publishing songs which were not in the style of his other band, “Platero y Tú”. Its style is a mix of rock soul and swingIn 2009 they released their latest album, "Antes de que cuente diez", which was top in Spain for various weeks.

Adolfo Cabrales, Fito, was born in 1966 in the neighbourhood of Zabala Bilbao. He begins to feel their passion for rock and roll since childhood. He spent part of his childhood and adolescence in cities such as Laredo and Malaga, but he has just returned to his native Bilbao. In his early years he worked as a waiter in a club hostess Street Courts, popularly known as “the Handle”, owned by his father.

In 1989 Fito Iñaki joins 'Uoho' Anton Juantxu 'Mongol' Olano and Jesus 'Magilla' García. “fito&fitipaldis” arises and in 1991 published his first work, 'I'm going to end up drunk'. It was the first step of a band in the 90's which would become one of the icons of rock sung in Castilian.

“fito&fitipaldis” is distinguished by the then so fashionable Basque Rock Radikal embrace the more classic rock tradition via Status Quo, Leno, AC / DC, The Rolling Stones or John Fogerty, with lyrics that speak of bars, love, drugs and rock and roll.

MELENDI

Did you know that Melendi is a man who first devoted himself to play football? Yes!!! He played in low categories of “Real Oviedo”. He even worked at numerous bars as a waiter.

But, after that, he started to play his own songs. His speciality in music is rumba with the influence of rock, flamenco and pop.

Up to 2010 he has relased 5 albums.The last was publised on 2nd

November and he wants to relased a new one called Mientras Duermes.

Melendi won the prize “Pie Izquierdo” that grants the music channel “Cadena 100”.

The reason why I love Melendi are the lirycs of his songs. They explain the reality of the world we live in.

LA OREJA DE VAN GOGH

“La oreja de Van Gogh” is a band that play pop music.

The band established in 1994. They consist of four old friends and the singer,a new girl called Leire.

The band writes pop songs. They also use other styles like ranchera,dance or electronic music. The songs are written by the band members themselves. The themes of their songs include love, friendship and relationships.

Their first album was published in 1998 “Dile al Sol” and in 2000 was published “El viaje de Copperpot”,which sold a lot of copies.

Consequently, the band has been extremely successful not only in Spain but in many other countries.

ECDL

ECDL is one of the most important pop-rock band in Spain.

Their first fans were teenagers who listened to them in the classroom and school banks.The band is composed of: Dani (singer), David (guitar), Chema (bass) and Jandro (drums).The band was formed in 1994, since then ECDL have sold more than a million copies in the market, it has become one of the most important bands in Spain.

Some of the most famous songs are: La madre de José(2003), Zapatillas (2005), Besos (2005), Peter Pan (2008).The group has won two MTV Europe Music Awards in the category of “Best Spanish Artist” and has been awared with two Prizer “Ondas “for Music in the categories of “The Best New Artist on Lilve” (2004) and “The Best Spanish band” (2005).

For me, ECDL is the best pop-rock band in Spain.

Mago de Oz

My favourite band is “Mago de Oz”.

It was formed in 1989.they started playing in a small pub in Madrid, where they began to play his music on live.

In 1994 the band's first album appeared. It was entitled“Mago de Oz” and was created by the members of the band. They toured all over the country.

“Mago de Oz” has published several albums since 1989 until today: Mago de Oz in 1994, Jesús de Chamberí in 1996, La leyenda de la Mancha in 1998, which was a number one in 1999, Finisterra in 2000, Folktergeist in 2002, Gaia in 2003, Belfast in 2004, La Posada de los Muertos in 2005, Rarezas in 2006, La ciudad de los Àrboles in 2007 and Barakaldo in 2008.

Current members of the band are: Txus: drums and vocals; José Andrea: vocals; Mohamed: violin and vocals; Frank: guitar and vocals; Carlitos: lead guitar and vocals; Sergio Cisneros: Keyboard; Patricia Tapis: vocals.

In my opinion, “Mago de Oz” is one of the best bands in the Spanish musical scene.

Carlos Baute since he was a child already showed interest for the music World.

With 13 years old he became one of the members of the juvenile group “Los

Chamos”.

In 1994, he got his first contract for making a disc. His first albums ok

“Orígenes I”, “Orígenes II-Tambores”. In this album Carlos records the sounds

of his country, Venezuela.

Later, Carlos Baute changed of sound and he became a pop singer but without

losing his Caribbean identity. His third album was composed with Yasmil

Marrufo, Ricardo Montaner…“Yo nací para querer”.

In 2001, he published his fourth disc “Dame de Eso”, with this album Carlos

got a Platinum Album and a Gold Album.

In my opinion, Carlos is one the best pop singers nowadays.

EL SUEÑO DE MORFEO

The history of a pop band

El sueño de Morfeo is a band which mixes a variety of music: pop, rock and folk.

It grew up in Spain in 2002. This group is formed by Rachel, the vocalist, David, guitar and Juan Luis, guitar.

The first album was “Del Interior”. They have a sold over 350,000 copies.

Recently they have released a new album called “Cosas que nos hacen sentir bien”.

I went to a concert in Huelva two years ago. It was fantastic!

I love them, because they sing very well and they are very famous due to their success.

El Canto Del Loco

El Canto del Loco is a Spanish band who plays pop-rock music. It was created in 1994 by Dani Martín and Iván Ganchegui.

Later, four more members entered the group.

El Canto del Loco, has sold more than one million of copies, becoming one of the most important pop bands of the present Spanish musical landscape.

They have got three nominations to the MTV Europe Music Prizes in the category of “Spanish best artist” They have won this award in two occasions.

Also, they were awarded with two Prizes Ondas of music in the categories of “Best Artist on live” in 2004 and “Best Spanish artist or group” in 2005.

For me, El Canto Del Loco is the best band in Spain!

SERGIO CONTRERAS.

Sergio Contreras was born on the 18 of October, 1978 in Huelva (Spain).

He started as a DJ’s who dreamed to become a famous singer.

In 2005 he published his first album called “De luz y de sal” which became very popular. He sold more than 65.000 copies.

His style is very original because he blends flamenco and pop music.

His dream became true with his albums“De luz y de sal”, “El espejo”, “La transparencia de un alma” and “Equilibrio”.

Furthermore, he has published his own biography, where he tells how an introverted boy became a famous singer.

I really love this singer, both the lyrics of his songs and his musicBut, what I most enjoy is seeing him on live in one of his fantastic concerts!

MY FAVOURITE BAND

I love listening to “Semana Santa” music and my favourite band is the band “Our Lady of Consolation”

This band was created in 1994 within the heart of the brotherhood of the “Good Death” in the city of Huelva.

It made its presentation at the church of the Convent of the Augustinian RR.MM in January of that year, reaping great success.

The band is made fully staffed including trumpets and drums corps and they usually accompany Easter processions and other parades.

The band is very well-known both within the province of Huelva and in Andalusia. I would like to highlight between their performances the Proclamation of Easter in Ciudad Real, Portugal International Competition and the International Festival of Ayamonte in 1998.

For me this kind of music is the best!

From Mexico... CAMILA!

My favorite band is the Mexican Camila because their music and lyrics are written by themselvens.

They started to play music 4 years ago.

Their first album is ''Todo Cambió'' and after it they published their second album ''Dejarte de Amar''.

This band is formed by 2 singers and 1 guitarist.

Their latest videoclip is ''Besame'' and I am looking forward to seeing it.

I hope to go one of their concerts on live some day

If you ask me, I will simply say they are the best.!

Estopa

During their musical career the band ''Estopa'' has obtained a large number of prizes.

The band's musical style is pop-rock altought it mixes other musical styles as rumba.

With their seven albums they have got 26 Platinum Albums, some ''Premios Amigo'', ''Premios Ondas'' etc.

This band published their first album in 1999 called ''Estopa''.

Their last CD was released in 2009 which coincided with the 10 th

anniversary of the band's creation. For this reason, it is called ''Estopa X Anniversarivm'', and this album copiles songs of other contributer singers.

For me, this music band is one of the best ones in this country.

Jarcha.Jarcha is an band from the city of Huelva.

Jarcha was created in 1972 in Huelva and it was composed by Mª Isabel Martín, Lola Bon, Antonio A. Ligero, Ángel Corpa, Crisanto Martín, Gabi Trobé and Rafael Castizo.Their music has important objectives:

– To seek and to speak the Andalusian tradicional music.– To created original songs and full of content.– To use the most popular poems – To create songs of strong social content.

During the years of the political trasition her music reflected the rejection to “franquismo” and the fight for democracy with songs as Liberty without rage.This song became the symbol of this historical period.

Between 1975 and 1976 it was the the most popular band in the country.In his 36 years of history, its members have been changing.

Nowadays, they are Mª Isabel Martín, Paloma Olier, Jesús Bola, Á Marchena, Tino Blanco and Rafael Castizo.

Jarcha has published the following albums: “Libertad sin Ira”, “Andaluces de Jaen”, “Cadenas”, “Por las pisadas” and “Sentir el Sur”, among others.

Jarcha has been acting for a lot of years and, for me, they are the best in Spain.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk rock band. In 1983, they formed the group in Los Angeles, California.

The components are, the vocalist Anthony Kiedis, guitarrist Jhon Frusciante, bassist Michael “Flea” Balzary and drummer Chad Smith. Then the guitarrist left the band and was remplaced by Josh Klingheffer.

They all met at their high school in Holliwood.

Their musical style is traditional funk-rock, fused with rap, alternative, punk-rock, metal and psychodelic-rock.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have won seven Grammy Awards and the band has sold over 110 million albums worlwide.

“Flea”, the bassist, is considered one of the best in the world. He has collaborated with bands such as Metallica, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine and the guitarrist “Slash”.

I have been listening to this group lately, and my favorite songs are “Californication”, “Other Side”, and “Dany California”.

In mi opinion, is a great group and everyone should listen to it.

Michael Peter Balzary, best known as Flea, is an Australian bassist, trumpeter and an occasional actor.

DAVID BUSTAMANTE

David Bustamante was born on 25, December, 1982 in San Vicente de la Barquera (Cantabria).

Bustamante began acting in parties and theaters.

In 2001 was picked up to participate in the music contest “ Operación Triunfo”. He was the third winner.

His musical style are pop and ballads.

Some of his albums are “Caricias al alma”, “Al filo de la irrealidad” and “A contracorientes”.

David Bustamante married with the actress Paula Echevarria. They have a little girl called Daniela.

In my opinion David Bustamante is the best singer in the world.
