These ladies represent our school and staff very well. They represent the dedication and commitment our entire staff has towards our school and students. I’m proud of them and of our entire staff. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. France for providing our entire staff with a surprise lunch. It was a wonderful treat for all and made us all feel very special. Thank you! This is hard to believe, but we are finishing the First Quarter next week. Reports cards will go out on October 30 th . Please make note that we will have a Teacher’s Planning Day on Friday, October 25 th . Last week, I shared with you one of the KES Essential. Essential #1, which required reading every night (K/1 are read to nightly). This week, KES Essential #2 is attendance. It is important that your child attend school on a regular basis and on time. It is very difficult to duplicate the classroom instruction and activities that are used to teach/reinforce a concept. Excessive absences have a direct impact on student learning and the privilege to participate in extracurricular activities. I’m very proud that as a school, Ketterlinus has greatly re- duced our absences, but we still have room to improve. Please note that if your child is sick, fever, or vomiting, he or she needs to stay home. Our parents have done a wonderful job in improving our attendance at KES. Keep it up!!! Our recycling program is going very well in the cafeteria. The stu- dents are helping to reduce the trash going into the landfill by recy- cling basically everything except the leftover food. Everything from the plastic wrappers, milk cartons, straws, and trays is recycled. All liquids are drained and food is thrown into a separate container that is taken to the dumpster. All recyclable items are taken to a special dumpster where they are picked up for recycling instead of going to the landfill. We still are in need of cafeteria volunteers. Check out some of our community members volunteering!!! Have a wonderful weekend! Kathy Tucker P.T.O. News The Fall Festival is set for Friday, No- vember 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m..
