One: Why do we confess together as one church family? All: Because we are a covenant people, joined in the grace of God. One: Let us pray: All: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. Our list of regrets is long. Our hearts are heavy with missed opportunities to help, to share, and to extend good news. Teach us to be generous with our time, our resources, and our gifts for ministry. Refine both our hearts and our service in the image of your Son, Jesus Christ the Savior. Amen.

Offertory Anthem(8:15 & 9:30) I Will Give Thanks/Halle, Halle Henry Purcell/John Bell

I will give thanks unto Thee, O Lord, with my whole heart, ev’n before the gods will I sing praise unto Thee. Halle, halle, hallelujah! O God, to whom shall we go? You alone have the words of life. Let your words be our prayer and the song we sing: hallelujah! My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord. When I call them they follow me. I will lead them to rest by the peaceful streams: hallelujah!

(11:00) Surrounded by Love Mark Patterson (b. 1969)As we gather within this holy place we give thanks, for we are surrounded by love. God’s love surrounds each one of us here as we learn to sing God’s praise, as we learn to share God’s grace, as our faith is kindled by the teaching of God’s word. God’s love surrounds each one of us here. In prayer and friendship we will grow, in all we do God’s love will show, like the colors of a kaleidoscope God’s love will be revealed day by day. Through the mountains and valleys and the tunnels of our lives, God’s mighty hand strengthens us and in that strength we will rise!

Prayer of Dedication

Offertory Response Hymn (seated) BEACH SPRINGLend your joy to all our giving, let it light our pilgrim way;from the night of anxious keeping, loose us into generous day. Then when years on earth are over, and we’ve lived our human span,God fulfill beyond our dreaming, all our stewardship began. (text by Robert Edwards)

*Affirmation of Faith from Philippians 2God has called us to do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility to regard others as better than ourselves. God has called us to look not to our own interests, but to the interests of others. We desire to share in the same mind that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave in human likeness. Jesus humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death on a cross. God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God.

WE GO IN GOD’S NAME
