We arrived at this place, it was smelly and it was worse then the train! I think it was a camp…this Is not
what I pictured.
A man is yelling at my mother and I to go one way while another man is yelling at the rest of my family.
Their going the other way.
I arrive in a room with men tattooing a number on my arm and then shaving all of my hair off.
My mother and I are used for slavery and soon we were infected by many diseases and we were sent to
the infirmary. It was cold and filled with mice, I felt sick just looking at the people in the room.
Unfortunately my mother was dying of disease … that was the last time I saw her.
Thankfully this disease does not kill me. But the pain from losing my mother almost does.
I worked as a slave for 4 years and had many more brushes with death.
Then these men came and took some of us away, I thought I was heading to another camp wear I would
meet my end.
I was wrong, these men were here to save me.
When this disaster ended I try not to think of what happened to my family, and just try to think that I'm
lucky I'm alive.
But I am always wondering why this happened when it could have been so easily prevented.
All I can do now is hope people have learned ……..
