This 78,000 square foot on-campus facility opened its doors in fall 2014. The $36 million facility boasts practice gyms, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, study areas, video rooms, and sports medicine and strength training spaces for our basketball teams.

Shenkman, an 85,000- square-foot center with a two-story strength and conditioning area, is regarded as one of the best football practice facilities in the country. Burton houses coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, equipment, a student- athlete lounge, study rooms, and sports medicine and video viewing areas.

Former UConn men’s soccer student-athlete Tony Rizza ’87 has pledged $8 million to transform our soccer stadium into a $24 million state-of-the-art soccer complex.

Our student-athletes focus just as hard on their books as they do on their games:

› 13 UConn teams earned perfect NCAA Academic Performance Rate (APR) scores of 1000 for 2013-2014, including the National Champion men’s basketball and field hockey teams.

› 22 of the 24 teams have a four-year APR score of 970 or better as of 2013-2014, including four teams with perfect multi-year scores.

› 235 UConn student-athletes were named to the American Athletic Conference 2014-15 All-Academic team.
