Transcript of We Are The World And Lucky
AND SO SO LUCKY!Give thanks!Help others!
There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
and it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can’t go on pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of God’s great big family
And the truth, you know
Love is all we need
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
it’s true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
it’s true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
When you're down and out, there seems no hope at allWhen you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there’s no way we can fall
But if you just believe there’s no way we can fall
Let us realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

If you were to shrink the earth’s population to a village of 100 people, it
would look something like this:
52 would be female, 48 would be male
70 would be Non-Christian, 30 would be
Christian
6 of them would be Americans. These 6
would have over half of the world’s wealth.
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from mal-nutrition,
1 would be near death, l near birth.
1 would have a college education,
1 would own a computer.

If you woke up this morning with more
health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not
survive this week.
If you have a non-dirt floor in the place you
live, you belong to the upper half of the
world’s most prosperous people.
If you have a window, a door and more than
one room, you belong to the upper 20 percent
of the world’s richest people.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness
of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the
pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the
world.
If you can attend church without fear of harassment, arrest or torture, or death, you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the
world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on you back, a roof over head and a place to sleep you are richer
than 57% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare
change in a dish some place you are among
the top 8% of the world’s most wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married
you are very rare, even here in the United
States and Canada.
Regardless of where you live, if you can read and you have a pair of shoes, a change of underwear
and can choose from two or more foods to eat, you
belong to the top 10 percent of the world’s
most wealthy.
