It's Norman Vincent’s 50th anniversary in Jacksonville radio and his 30th as host of Swing Time, a weekly show at WROS(1050 AM) featuring the music of his youth, the big band sound of the 1930s and 1940s. He plays artists like Duke Elington, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Jimmy Lunsford, and Count Basie. He broadcasts his show on Saturdays from 2 to 4 PM, playing 25 to 30 recordings each week. Norm spoke on the “Power Of Sound In Music” – how sound helps people visualize and focus on something. He spoke on the history of Swing music and some of the great bands. At the end of his talk, he played songs and asked the audience to name the song and the artist. Thank you Norm for your interesting and entertaining talk.

Among the highlights of the program will be the presentation of all 2005-06 Club and Individual Awards. They have included some GREAT entertainment for us all to enjoy.  And, if you have not attended before, you will NOT be disappointed. You can register online and find the conference schedule posted at www.floridakiwanis.com

Heavenly Father:

We thank You for all that You have provided us on this earth. We thank You for the skills You have given us, which allow us to earn our livings and care for our families. In gratitude for our blessings, may we share them with others through our efforts in Kiwanis. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen

Spoke about:

Laconia High School Key Clubbers flew from New Hampshire to Jacksonville during their February vacation to help build a house for the needy with Beaches Habitat For Humanity, There were 10 members and 6 adults. The Beaches United Methodist Church Youth House provided housing, and our club funded the airport transportation. Bill Montgomery and Ed Robinson were there to help them get settled.
