“We credit Ruth Miskin Training with starting Riverley on its journey from Inadequate to Outstanding. It is so much more than just a phonics programme; it taught us to believe in every single child and to teach every lesson in an exciting, interactive way. The programme is well resourced, easy for practitioners to plan and ensures that every child is taught exactly what they need to know. No child is left behind and no child is held back. It is the perfect way to guarantee that children love reading from the minute they set foot in school.”

Riverley Primary School Waltham Forest, London

We asked one of our trainer’s schools whether they enjoyed the training...

“Yes! There was a definite ‘buzz’ for the whole day. Jilly’s passion and enthusiasm shone through. The staff loved the fast-paced, active style. Our KS2 teachers now fully understand how we teach children to read and write and the journey children have been on before they reach the juniors. For many, it has given them quality CPD around the basics of phoneme/ grapheme awareness and how it is discretely taught.”

“Building a relationship with a school and supporting them on their Read Write Inc. journey is incredibly rewarding. Our training has an impact not only on pupil progress and achievement but also on staff knowledge and confidence. I feel great job satisfaction when a child in Reception learns to blend or phonic screening check results jump from 50% to 92%.”

Are you:

z Passionate that every child reads by six and develops a life-long love of reading?

z An experienced literacy lead with a track record of outstanding teaching?

z An articulate and inspiring teacher ready for a new challenge?

We have a team of over fifty trainers in the UK and abroad and are looking for more. Our trainers are outstanding teachers who train, coach and continue to teach in schools on Development Days. Many have been reading leaders in Read Write Inc. schools and have seen for themselves the power of our programmes.

Regular in-school Development Days provide trainers with the perfect opportunity to continue teaching children. Trainers join in with Read Write Inc. lessons, assess individual children and focus on the slowest progress readers to ensure success for every child. They work with reading leaders to establish weekly practice sessions and observations, and ensure teachers are clear of next steps.

The Train the Trainer course provided me with the skills, confidence and know-how to become the trainer I aspire to be. I not only teach children, but coach and support teachers too.

“I love my role as a consultant trainer. When I started my career I wanted to change the life chances of the children in my class. I now do that for not only one class, but for children in schools all over London and the South East. Since joining the team, I feel inspired by my colleagues and excited by the future.”
