Each pair of frames features OV- VO’s patented screw-less hinge. The screw- free construction renders the frames both flexible and strong. Designed to withstand a pulling force of up to 90 pounds, the hing- es were opened and closed 300,000 times during testing, with no damage to the frame’s structure or appearance. Each frame passes through various stages of hand manufactur- ing, a 65-85 step process developed by our technicians. With great precision and atten- tion to detail the frames are hand polished, painted, decorated and assembled by a crew of 250 dedicated production experts. A juxtaposition of old and new, the collection highlights OVVO’s innovative, intri- cate design while celebrating the Art Nouveau movement of the early 1900s. Every pair is handmade in Europe, using a signature surgical steel titanium composite. The designs, meantime, reference Mucha’s paintings of women, with distinctive cutouts that mirror the “whiplash curves” of his time period. WOOD & CARBON FIBER COLLECTION combines the natural beauty and elegance of wood with the technical precision of carbon fiber. Each frame features surgical steel and titanium temples, along with OVVO’s patented screw-less hinge. The collection was designed in collaboration with leading specialist of carbon fiber, known for his work on the America’s Cup and Olympic Gold Medal-winning sailboats. The wood, meantime, was carefully sourced and selected based on texture, color and origin. ACETATE COLLECTION.
