My name is Kostya Ivliev. I’m 13. I’m from Moscow. I’m fond of sports. My favourite sport is short track speed skating. At the age of seven I put skates, a helmet, a neck guard, a skin suit, gloves on and began to train. I’ve taken part in different competitions. I’ve already visited many cities and towns in our country and abroad. I’m good at this sport. It helps me to be strong and disciplined, healthy and patriotic. I want to be like my parents. They are great short trackers.

My mother is a coach. She trains future Olympic champions.She is a twice European champion and an international master of sports.Her pupils are winners of different short track competitions held in Russia.Her motto is to go forward, to reach up and to win.Mum says: “If you are a real sportsman be proud of it though you are not a champion.”

My father is a champion of All-Union competitions, a record-breakerand a prize - winner of European championships. He began to skate when he was a small boy.What is short track speed skating for him? He says: “ Trainings, ice, thousands of fallings, defeats, injuries, pain, contests, victories. It’s my life. It’s short track!”He is a coach too. He likes his pupils and they like him.
