Chapter 1 Brief Introduction

1.1 Purpose

The WCDMA-RNC Engineering Design Guide is written for engineers of Huawei to finish WCDMA RNC system engineering design work.

1.2 Intended Audience

1. Technical supporters

Note:

Engineering design work should be completed by the personnel who have product bases or by the guide of the personnel who have product bases. For some basic knowledge, there are no detailed descriptions in this guide.

1.3 Application Occasion

Before a site deployment, the system design contents should be completed. The main operators are wireless system design engineers and site deployment engineers.

1.4 Operation Specifications

(1) Execute according to the templates offered by Huawei strictly;

(2) The designs should be precise and detailed;

(3) Accord with related operation specifications of Huawei.



Chapter 2 Work for Engineering Design

For engineering design, the items in China are completed by the mobile carrier delegates them to the provincial design institute. And XX Project Technical Proposals is exported. For items outside China, the Marketing of Huawei completes the system design according to the suggestions of market technology team and technical support. The XX Project Technical proposals and the related logic networking diagram should be exported too; and then the Customer Service carries out the site survey. Additionally, the Site Survey Report is exported. According to Contract List BOQ, XX Project Technical Proposals and Site Survey Report, technical support engineering design team completes concrete engineering design documents. The networking diagrams in the engineering design documents should be reviewed by technical support.



The purpose of the system design's whole tache is to offer site engineering implementation guide. So the engineering design documents should be exported finally. The emphasis of this guide is to introduce how to complete the execution of engineering design documents.

2.2.1Engineering Overview

1. Description

The function of this document is to make engineering personnel know the basic information of engineering. The information includes: engineering information, subscriber information and equipment information. At the same time, you should supplement the basic demands of engineering.

2.2.2System Networking Diagram

1. Description

Usually, MAEKETING and the documents offered by operator at the time of pre-sales communion are used. The logical connections of equipment are introduced. The purpose is to make engineers know about the general view of whole networking, including the equipment owing to the cooperation of partner/competitor.

You can use VISIO or AUTOCAD to execute. Describe the signaling trend of equipment, IP networking and service trend in detail.

4. Precautions

The networking drawing must be approved by technical support before writing out the engineering design document.

2.2.3Engineering Interface

1. Description

The document is the engineering interface document drawn by site survey personnel according to site situations. By this document, we can know which should be done by Huawei and which need the cooperation of operator.

4. Precautions

For the concrete engineering interface division, you should communicate with the operator in advance. The purpose is to avoid a dispute.

2.2.4Layout Diagram of Equipment Room

1. Description

This drawing is offered by survey engineers too. The function is that site engineers can know the concrete placement locations of equipment.

Offer the AUTOCAD mode. Use A4 standard engineering drawings offered by Huawei. Mark up the distance between cabinets in detail.

The floor plan should be confirmed by the signature of operator.



2.2.5Cabling Diagram of Equipment Room

1. Description

The function is to offer a cabling diagram of transmission cables during the project and guide site engineering installations.

For this document, you need to offer the AUTOCAD mode. Use A4 standard engineering drawings offered by Huawei. Show the transmission cable trends from equipment to DDF and PDF clearly. At the same time, you should mark clearly it is upward wiring or downward wiring. Introduce the detailed trends of power cables, trunk cables, signal cables and network cables.

4. Precautions

Describe clearly about the height of machine room, floor, with or without floor board, upward and downward wirings, new or expansion equipment.



2.2.6GPS Antenna Installation Drawing

1. Description

During projects, if GPS antennas are necessary, survey engineers execute this drawing to guide the GPS antenna installation.

Offer the AUTOCAD mode. Use A4 standard engineering drawings offered by Huawei. Mark up the equipment position and cable route clearly.

4. Precautions

Mark up the position of outdoor grounding bar.

2.2.7Cabinet Card Layout

1. Description

Board types and amount are gotten from quotation. According to the card position configuration principle, arrange the board position reasonably.



2. Demand

Execute using the stated template. You must accord with the card position configuration principle.

2.2.8Alarm Cable Connection Table

1. Description

If RNC has the alarm box connection, fill in the table.

Fill in the stated table. Mark up the alarm cable connection port clearly.

1. Description

2.2.10Iub Trunk Distribution Table

1. Description

The table marks up the distribution of Iub interface trunk.

2. Execution Demand

Fill in according to the stated WORD template. Mark up the every trunk's corresponding DDF rack port and the peer NodeB name clearly.

2.2.11Iub Interface Fiber Allocation Table

1. Description

If the Iub interface uses fiber to connect, fill in this table.

2. Execution Demand

Fill in according to the stated WORD template. Mark up every tail fiber's corresponding ODF port and the peer NodeB name clearly.



2.2.12External Interface STM-1 Allocation Table

1. Description

The table describes the distribution of external STM-1.

2. Execution Demand

Fill in according to the stated template. Be clear about every port corresponding ODF rack position and the opposite equipment name. For one interface, if there are two pairs of fiber, they should distribute on different boards in reason.

1. Description

The table describes internal fiber allocations.

2. Execution Demand

Fill in according to the stated template. The two pairs of fiber to the same frame should distribute on different boards in reason.
